    Hey all-

I signed up here a few days ago and have been lurking around trying to learn what I can. Wow there's a lot of info to sift thru here... Just a few questions so far:

    1) Are there any issues on the 6th gen or '07 VFR's I need to watch out for? Mine's pretty tip-top, but before I head out on a long haul (and the Dragon is waiting...) I'd like to know.

    2) Are there any VFR/Honda riding groups anywhere near Ft. Bragg NC?

    3) What's the deal with the "6th Gen Militia"? I see several sub-divisions and patches on peoples sig lines- cool badging! What's it all about?

    Thanks!

The '07 is good out of the box. You're all set.

The 6th Gen Militia was started quite a few years ago by jasonsmith and norcalboy. It was their answer to all of the 6th Gen bashing that was going on at the time. It was a way to unite all 6th Gen owners. The patches were provided by silversurfer800. norcalboy and silversurfer are still around, but I haven't heard anything from jasonsmith in quite a while ...............

Cool idea! Is it a tangible entity, or just an on-line thing? I'd love to get one of the Anniversary RWB patches!

No, it's a real part of this forum. If you look at many member's signature, you'll see a reference to the "6th Gen Militia". Do a search as there is a thread that lists all the members as well. I believe it is over 300 now. As far as the patches go, send a pm to SilverSurferRWB (used to be SilverSurfer800). He coordinated the whole thing with the patches. He might have a few left over.

Howdy bud, welcome aboard! I'm kinda new here too, and I have the other 2007 model, the more modestly colored dark red. To address question #1, based on many, many hours of reading this and other fora, you got the most "fixed" of the VFR's. I personally think we need a separate group for the "Sixth and a half generation", but I feel like too much of a noob to stick my neck out yet. Most of the complaints deal with the somewhat compromised suspension and tire choices Honda made, all of which are readily fixable with aftermarket parts. Out and out defects seem few and far between, although I admit I am keeping a close watch on the electrics. At any rate, damn glad to have you.

Welcome aboard dude. There were som problems with the pre 05's but I think Honda got that all rectumfied. I have an 06 with some 79.5 thousand miles on it. Other than routine maintinance, no issues. Except, it seems to cause the weather to change to rain a lot. Go fugure.

I don't think SSRWB has any more of those patches. I was considering taking up the challenge of getting them produce but I seem to have run out of the time needed to persue this.

Jasonsmith is still around. I keep trying to get hm to buy me beer but he is a cheap prick you know.

OK, I searched high and low for that bag I lost, found and lost again with the remaining patches. I didn't think there were any more except for the 2 I ordered for myself but I was wrong. I have 5. PM me 82ndGM and we'll work it out.

I didn't have the RWB patch made; only the 6th Gen Militia with the V4 engine.

Ya...he does. But if there is water in the air within a 300 mile radius, he hides. I think he squats to pee too. He's a bit of a putz. I think he should sell his to me when and if mine ever gives up the ghost. I ran into him a couple weeks ago right after mounting a new set of PR3's on mine. This is my 5th set of rubber on mine while he "just" replaced his originals last summer.
