Took the plunge about 2 weeks ago... local dealers ex demo with 1800k's on the clock, rack, top box, panniers, centre stand, touring screen and a $500 fuel card.

I gotta admit Iv'e been on 3 wheels for the last couple of years, Spyders... however thats not to say i haven't ridden anything before. I've lost count of how many bikes I've had since I started riding when I was 4 years old, everything from Deltek Rockhoppers to Gold Wings and 'Busa's and I gotta say that this thing is, well, it's a Honda. It feels almost surgically precise.
The first weekend we had it, myself and the "minister for finance and war" got up at 6am and proceeded to cover nearly 700k's, it's just a joy to ride. was kind of worried after reading all the fuss about the mileage, but if you cant find fuel every couple of hundred k's, then you probably should be carrying some with you anyhoo.

I am known for changing bikes regularly, but I think you will be stuck with me here for a long time, I LOVE THIS BIKE.

    Cheers

Is it right hand drive? Welcome. You will find there is quite the following over your way. Welcome to the World. I hear that you guys over there eat wayward tourists if they don't conform to your ways traditions. Post up pix. But post them upside down so we can make sence of them

Definitely right hand drive, I couldn't get used to changing geas with the other hand. We don't so much "eat the tourists", we just dispose of them... see 'WOLF CREEK"

Wow... The demo i bought was sitting in the dealers for some time, admired it every time I went in to get the Spyder fixed. A few mates had ridden it and one in particular said "it was the worst thing that he had ever ridden" had to make up my own mind, tes rode one Saturday morning with the minister for finance on the back and put a deposit on it when we returned, it just was that good.

I test rode one last year and I was pretty impressed with it myself. I think the naysayers will probably come around but who knows? I do remember when the 6th gens starting becoming more popular than the 4th and 5th gens and it was a dark time for VFRdom. :)
