So....I'm finnally fed up of trying to save these abused and maladjusted bikes from negligent owners.

I found my self a Gorgeous 1997 VFR750. I purchased it from the original Owner who was quite a perfectionist, and quite the caring owner.

Bike has 28,000kms (17,400miles) on it.....1 owner...and is in quite exquisite shape.

I rode it back from the owners house this Afternoon....a little over an hour ride.

It's amazing the difference. The bike pulls so effortlessly. The Gear whine is so much more noticeable on this motor. The brakes are there at the slightest touch.

The Two Brothers Pipe is also quite nice to hear

    Sorry, no complaining allowed.

I did 950 miles, all in 18 hours this past Monday. From the middle of Minnesota to Fort Collins CO on the 3rd gen.

That sounds amazing. I'm looking forwarded for some long rides again.

I have to start getting used to the range on this bike, and how long I can go with the fuel light on.

I put some kms/miles on the bike this past week....it's been raining a lot so I couldn't ride as much as I wanted.

Spent Saturday Morning trying to figure out how to take the plastics off to do an Oil change. The middle fairings tabs were creaking so much I was afraid I was gonna break them.

Bike took an even 3L of oil. Put her back together and gave her a Wash&Wax.

2 tanks of fuel later and I'm getting around 5.2L / 100kms or aprox 45mpg. I'm really happy about that.

Can't wait to see what the bikes Max range is.

    Noice Boik!
I too noticed that the 4th gen fairing plastics were very "creaky". I very much prefer the newer thinner plastics they are putting on other models nowadays, they seem much more flexible and strong.

    Thanks Matt.

Hmmm...may be a bit unfair. I'd have to compare it to a 2nd gen in good knick. as it is now the bike is better in every aspect. It's more comfortable, feels like it has more low end and mid range, better range, easier to do chain adjustments, better clocks....

The only thing I miss about the 2nd gen is the lighter weight and the "nostalgia".
