Thanks guys for the comments, as for opinion on the bike, well, in all reality it is only mine that counts. As for a VFR800 I test rode them back in 06, 08 and this year and I hated them, sorry just not my bike. The V12 on the other hand works for me and yes, I know I'll spend money on it making it mine and fitting the wife (lower rear pegs).
Those who don't know but as of the 1st of July this year Harley Aust will be reducing the price of ALL new Harleys by 25% (I have it in writing) and they wont trade a Harley till after that date. This Stealer will as in his area there are no Harley Dealers with the nearest being 1,000 Klms away and its a minning area so that will just buy when they see it, not travel to get a good deal.
IMHO the Harley is the biggest piece of shit I have owned and I have had 17 bikes in the last 5 years (up to 7 at a time) across a broad range of makes and models, the Honda's work well and the VFR12 handles like a dream on my test ride on shitty roads and tight corners. The appeal of the DCT is that the concept works for me as at times I'll lazy .

Anyway, I'll keep you in the loop as we are negotiating who pays to transport my two bikes to him and if I ride back or not. Good comment about the run in period, never thought of that so it may be for $550 have it shipped to Melbourne

    Cheers

I'm with TOE....Pil will buy one probably after the riding season is just about over.so he can huddle in his garage with it and reallly get used to seeing it up close and personal...
for what it's worth, I would never own one... I like to tinker on things,

You are absolutely right. When it comes to your bike, your oinion is the only one that matters. I wish you all the best and I sincerely hope you enjoy our new bike and love it as much as we all love our bikes.

I agree. I've had my DCT since Sep 2010. I love the bike. Coming off an ST and still riding my Wing (03). The bike is a lot more fun than the ST ever was and I think more comfortable. It's no Wing, nothing is. The VFR120DCT is the most fun I've had on a bike. Sometimes more than I can handle, but always manageable. Change ups are crisp and clean. I've never drag raced the bike, I enjoy the twisty roads and it never disappointed. The power is wonderful. Honda has poured a lot of tech in to the bike and some people a upset about that. I've heard poor man's traction control, and other comments about how the computer takes some of the authority from the rider. Honda is limiting their liability. Just like they have with a lot of their bikes. Has anyone ever seen one that reads the correct speed? Just one way to slow you down. There will always be 3rd party vendors that remove those limits, and that will also remove Honda from the eventual law suit that would have come because of it.

The DCT handles the shifts quicker that I could, and I shift fairly fast. The power is smooth enough for me. The rest is a nice combo of agility and balance. It has the brawn to do the job. Before you can really talk about any bike, you really have to ride it for a while. Some times its just a matter of getting used to the bike, and becoming accustom to how you and it interact. If you could instantly get in a bike and know exactly how to get the most out of it, you would be making lots of money on the track and not hanging around the computer.

Great bike. Lots of fun. Lots of tech. Truly amazing.
