Getting the bike ready for my triumphant return to the road!!!! (ACL Surgery Update)

Well it is official, I'm off the crutches, no more knee brace either. I'm 2 weeks ahead of schedule in my physical therapy, and the surgeon said if I keep this up, I should be motorcycle worthy in another 3 weeks!!!

That's good to hear. Though you may not be able to ride then, if this freakin weather doesn't go away!

 

Completely tore my ACL in 1985 (dah stone age of sports medicine) my conservative sports medicine doc elected to trim the ends of the torn ligiment and had me re-hab my knee. I wore a lenoxhill derotation brace for tennis and that was it. Now, I dont even wear one. Knee is totally stable without a ligiment believe it or not. Heard good things about Don Joy Defiance Brace.

 

Dude, I totally feel your pain. I was off a bike for 9 months of 2010 & 2011. 2 months due to a torn muscle in my left leg & 8 months for my left ACL.

I have a DonJoy Armour ForcePoint. It's a pretty solid piece of machinery.

We've had some pretty nice days down here in Columbus though. With the exception of the last hour today was awesome. My best friend did a 4 hour ride while I was at work.

Congrats! You itching to get back out??? Maybe I'll see you out on the road sometime this summer....

 

Porkchop, I'm SERIOUSLY itching to get riding. The bike is nose to the street in the Garage just taunting me. If you're up for it, there's a ride happening on the 18th of June to Pittsburgh for lunch, then returning home. Going to Primanti Brother's.
