Now I do not want to sound old or anti progress or even worse, anti social, but this new religion that is engulfing the globe is really starting to get on my $#@*&$ tits.

I am away from the only worthwhile social network I know of for a few short months and what do I see upon my return! Freaking little “F” ing labels and thumbs up tags all over the show. As if to say that VFR world has at last entered the 21st century and joined the first world by adopting what is essentially a social platform for pimple ridden teenagers whom hide in cyberspace due to the devastation caused by the hormonal changes in their bodies.

“Sign up to see what your friends like.” Ja effing right. C’mon people, friends on Geekbook are only slightly more real than the invisible ones some of us had (Not me) back when we informed others of our age by raising some fingers of one hand. As to what they like or don’t like, I do not give a $#!t. Are there any grownups left out there?

My idea of a social network is the cooperation found between a group of guys each in turn ordering rounds of beer. If I wanted to publish every detail of my life to the entire world I would marry a sheep or some other freaking farmyard animal and invite CNN and Heat magazine to the big event.

This crap can not be considered as progress on the path of human evolution but rather the death of normal human interaction as a truly social creature.

Do we really need this excrement in our lives? Do we?

Wow, you realize that if you don't want to use that function, uhhh, you don't have to, right? You can just ignore it?

As for only being teenagers, well, that simply isn't true. Facebook now has the same number of subscribers as twice the population of the US! So apparently someone likes it.
I am no where near a teen ager, being born in the 60's and I am on -- as is my Mom in the last few weeks. As for the friends not being real, sure they are, all of them I have met prior to friending them on fb, it is just a way to keep up with everyone.

I don't "need" it, since that is the word you chose, but I do like it, and it keeps me closer to many friends that I don't see often enough, but still care about.

people also said the phone and the TV were fads, and that the phone would ruin the written letter; which didn't happen till email...

There are some chicas I want to be friends with. We are not talking her about all the cyberfriends shit, but touchy and especially feely friends like the chicas on the hot babes thread here.

This of course does not include "Chaz" who some of the racing experts are hot for.

Now Badbill, mmmmmmm, hate to admit it but..... there just might be a valid argument in there somewhere. As for now i will however remain in my corner, sulkingly sucking my thumb, thinking of arguments to defend my statements of earlier.

Be good, if you cant be good, use a condom!

    Cheers.
