Have a 2008 VFR800 and looking for a windshield mountable waterproof speaker system, preferably with bluetooth capabilites. I have an HTC EVO that I want to play Pandora through my bike. Tried the ol' headphones but they hurt my ears with my helmet on or end up falling out due to wind with no helmet on.

Do not know anyone around my town that has a set on and with some quick research it looks like there is a lot of junk out there. Looking to spend like $250 - $350. I believe that this bike can handle a 100 Watt amp? Anyone have any personal preferences? Thanks!

Not sure if this will be of any help. Not an external speaker system, but I've heard great things about the SENA helmet mounted BT/Comms system. It has flat mounted speakers that fit into your helemt and has BT so you can sync it to your iphone/mp3 player or nav system, as well as other SENA units (up to 4).

    Sena SMH10 Bluetooth Helmet Headsets

I've user similar flat mount speakers with no issues (don't even know they are there). I share your issues with wearing ear buds.

Fits your budget and you get more bang for your buck than just speakers.

Klipsch cornerhorns, lots of Velcro and a really good periscope. I saw a Harley once that was outfitted like that at Sturgis. The dude had turned his hog into an ice cream truck of sorts. Ran out of tuttifrutti the first day and his musical hook was the theme from "Small World."

He's in the USA and some states don't mandate the wearing of helemts. Although i'm not quite sure why someone one would not wear a helmet, regardless of it is the law or not (just becasue you can, dosen't mean you should). ;)

A few years back I was out on Der Bumblebeemer aka the moneypit, North of Seattle. Pulled into a drivein to grab a cuppa. Lots of bikes out, since believe or not, Seattle weather is not always dark and strormy. I hear somebody talking like a Swat team leader with a bullhorn telling some nutter to come out with his hands up.

Naaa, it's a gaggle of wingdingers and the dude riding lead is all in cammos and has an all weather speaker and a mike on his bike and is leader of the pack. Talking shit a mile an hour.
