Alright, so I just bought my 2007 vfr and everything was great. But now I'm having a problem. Every time that I start the bike in the morning to go to work, the rpms will die way down, so much so, that it dies. I have to pull on the throttle to about half, just to keep it from dying. After about 10-20 seconds of this it will pull out of its nose dive and level out to around 2200 and then die off to 1200 where its normal idle is at. Thank you guys.

I had a similar issue when the weather was extremely cold (high 20's to mid 30's) for several weeks in a row. Once the weather warmed up the issue went away. Check this thread I started when my problems started...

    Cold Start THREAD

I would check the airbox too just in case you have a tenant you need to evict...

Are you leaving the enriching lever (aka choke) partially on until your bike starts to warm up?

Hot or Cold start with EFI there is absolutely no need to touch the throttle prior to hitting the start button. Hopefully you're not doing that.

I had issues with mine quite a bit when it was new and set the idle to 1400rpm and have not had a problem since.

Maybe under the seat? ;) Whoops... My 91 has a choke and an idle adjuster.

Come to think of it, I see Harleydoods with EFI equipped bikes still trying to kickstart them..

I would drain all the gas and fill her up with new gas, clean the air filter and spark plugs. May want to add SEA foam to clean out the fuel system. Hope this help

Send me your 07 and I will dispose of it. Go get yourself a new one. Anyways, nest, bad fuel, fuel filter maybe. Pinched fuel line? Start with the simple cheap things to fix. Work your way up to the more expensive. When you hit costs in the range of $3.95, then it is no longer worth fixing and you need to ship it on up north to me. We have less environmental issues for disposition of said bikes here.

I have my 2000 idling around 1300, but I've tried a couple of times and same results, if I run super, bike never starts first try, always twice, sometimes a third roll. Fill her from the bottom with regular, starts evertime, firstime, never stalls. Thought it was just bad gas, tried super again, stalled start throughout whole tank, until fill again with the reg. Just my bike maybe...

Ok guys thank you all for your great input! But I have found the solution... to the solution. Plus it only cost me $2.43. Being here in the pacific NW it gets very wet and cold. Apparently, that likes accumulate inside the engine. So my step dad said to go buy some Iso-HEET, and it fixed it! Little side note, if you think you have this issue and go out and buy it, the instructions say "Pour in entire contents" or something like that. DONT! Do Not do it, you only need like a 3rd for a bike. Alright, well thanks again and happy riding guys.

ya so sorry, the price of the fix wasn't quite up to $3.95 so I wont be able to send my bike up your way...I know, you were really looking forward to me sending it but I'm going to have to take a raincheck. ;)
