Much better than kicking dogs and terrifying children and medical projections that may be more subjective than we know. BTW, the Circus Maximus was an early version of flat track. This according to Cecil B. DeMille or one of those Jesuits who used to whup on me.

Yeah and there was probably some dude named Snarkamus Prickus informing everyone over and over that "None of you are actual charioteers, I don't know why you people insist on talking about it". But I imagine he was speaking Latin.

You may be on to something finally. I do think the constant reference to two semesters of Latin is overused, speaking of "over and over".

I sincerely hope none of the leg humpers and analysts are shooting off Emails to the big boys telling them how to run the show or asking them to autograph thier _______ _______ , and why _____ ______ should be spanked.

BTW, in the 2008-09 NBA seasons. 82% or so of the players were black dudes. This does not in any way account for height, tats or fanny fatigue from sitting on a hard bench.

Your last few answers were substandard work, you seem to be just going through the motions. I can only give you a grade of C at best. Granted, I was not using my best troll bait, but thats no excuse, I've seen you do better. Now take a five minute timeout and use the time to think about your work.

That explains it all. Just momentarily I thought you had an epiphany, were influenced by a lunar cycle, or had run out of prune juice.

No need to apologize for having an outcome based education.

So do you think Ducati will toss a rattlecan paint job on that test bike as a disguise and try to buck the system with those over the hill fast guys?

Since I often mistake bad gas for epiphanies, and no one will listen to my self deprecating regardless of my consistent reminders that I only attended State school, I am left only with what the rest of us have, secondhand stories from those lucky enough to attend test bike sessions and their reports back to us proles, and a somewhat suspect ability to prattle on about it. Concerning your mentioned riders and their skill sets, I have never considered the hardworking Owensboro boy to be an iconic rider, just a damn good one, but compared to the youngsters out there right now like Spies and Jorge, he's second tier. So much the pity really, since he can obviously ride circles around 99.999 percent of the planet, but it is what it is.

Vale .........well, I dont know what to think. I want to say that he's finally diminishing. I may be proven wrong. That has never happened before. Im not sure what I'll do if it happens. I may have to go ride my motorcycle and think about that one. I suppose I'll be okay as long as I dont try to pass someone from really far back while on the brakes in the rain, lose the front, and take us both down.

MotoGP to Austin, starting in 2013, for 10 years; ALL 3 classes.

Indy makes a statement, which is kinda odd, as they only have a 1 year contract...

I was unaware that bad gas caused guilt trips too. Could be from that added ethanol.

It's official. The new track in Austin, Texas has inked a 10 year deal for MotoGP from 2013. Excellent area for a race. Should be a great venue for racing and post racing. Wonder which one of the current US rounds is going to get the axe?

OH SHIT! Please don't hold out on us if you know. Then again, take your time. You have until 2013 to cover up any "inside" BS you toss out.

Gawd, I loved that shit..... as a truly died in the wool numbers man, but at the same time knowing what talent brings to the table, how can a thinking man not love that parsing of the the data? Oh yeah, you can be a tiny guy and make the weight work for you, but under what conditions? Can you be fearless ? Heeeoheeeee
Tooo good. That right there is why we love the sport, I dont care if you go way back to the old school guys as in i watched Eddie Lawson do a major get off at turn nine at Laguna, or this year at Rossi acted like an idiot, that is why we watch.............

    Nce work brother........................

That was some serious number crunching and much more complex that figuring out which track will not be in the MOTO-GP loop two years from now.

Is "duh" in the dictionary? "Doh" is.

I hope all that was not just a precursor to schlep some fast guy diet or a list of things to saw off your (collective) bike. Pissing off the aftermarket "stuff" dudes could be not too healthy a practice..

As a fellow data junkie, I appreciated that crunchfest as well. And it just goes to show that talent is talent, no matter what the other variables might be.

Obviously, both large and small have distinct advantages and disadvantages. Obviously, as in every other major sport, there is a specific body type that works well. Players like Shaquil O'Neal don't get penalized in, or banned from, basketball for being too tall. Instead, the rest of the league searches for similar players. Obviously, Rossi is full of shit.

And what was Simoncelli thinking? Maybe HRC isn't his bag, so he figures that if he can ruffle a few feathers the kick-ass Suzuki will be waiting for him.

Anyone who has competed on a motorcycle knows that you are wrong in comparing this sport with anything involving a ball. Basketball and american football are two sports in which size is a clear advantage; but even then it is not the only factor. There are plenty of tall people who can't play basketball, and plenty of big guys who can't play football. But there is a HUGE difference between these sports and motorcycle racing.

In motorcycle racing where the performance of a machine AND a man (or woman) are combined to produce a result, and speed is of key importance in that result, a combined weight that is lower will - all other things being equal be faster. Of course, all other things are not equal; but the rules that govern the machines attempt to equalize those variables. A larger person should, perhaps, be able to more easily muscle a heavy and powerful bike than would a smaller person; but.... maybe that extra size and weight also have disadvantages (certainly the power to weight ratio is a disadvantage).

Since we have data that shows clearly that there is no measurable/observable difference in the results (between 'small' riders and 'large' ones), the only thing that remains is talent. And that, my friends, is something Rossi has in spades.

I think astrology plays as important a part in the outcome of MOTO GP as packing a few extra pounds or kilos.

Anybody up for a spirited chat on voodoo or rune casting?

Rossi, until recently, has enjoyed the benefits of being the one. Since things seem to be changing and he is no longer on the receiving end of the sycophancy, tires, and machines that he once had, he is looking to "level" the playing field for himself. It's the Rossi way. Simoncelli is Rossi's buddy, so it shouldn't be all that surprising that Rossi has him drinking the koolaid.

Rossi's actions over the past couple of years might provide an insight into what this guy is really all about. The mystique is gone, the only head games he's playing these days are inside his own skull.
