Thanks for the ride alongs. How are you finding out how the power and tq comes on? Smooth I would suspect. To much for the tires or just right? Sounds nice.

It's a handful in the lower gears as you saw :) Power/tq comes on fairly smooth, and with the live rear it is pretty easy to catch. The hardest part is just balancing it in the fine line between understeer and oversteer. Slicks are a lot less telling than a typical street tire.

Thanks! The engine has run better in the cart than it ever did in the bike :)

More pictures/video :) I reworked part of the frame to kill some major wheel hop I had, and also did some bodywork/repainted the vehicle. The first race since the changes was yesterday and I took 3rd fastest time of the day, off the lead by about a second. Found out that I was rolling over the sidewalls a bit which made the rear end very loose and cost a couple of seconds...still an absolute blast and the VFR has been fantastic!

Is anyone who is racing their bike running some sort of aftermarket oil catch can? I'm filling up a quart bottle in 6 runs, just from the forces the engine is seeing. I'd like to redo the oil pan and add in a drain off of the catch can back into the pan. Has anyone done this at all?

Second time I spun out...notice the right rear tire:

And the video of the last run which was ~.5 seconds off my fastest run of the day:

Hey There - I believe I own the remains of your car. I've done a pretty extensive build - now powered with a 2009 CBR600rr. I'm planning to race it at the Grassroots motorsports $2000 challenge in about a month. I don't know if you still hang around on this forum or if anyone else would like to see my build thread, but let me know.
