Can't clutch

If you could hold the handlebars but you couldn't pull the clutch in, what would you do?
1) Get a bike with an automatic trans?
2) Find/build a custom hydraulic clutch lever that even a baby could pull.
3) Other ___________.

Honda made some 750 4s in the 70s that were auto trannys. Maybe a Boss Hog? Moto Guzzi?

 

Ya know, I did know a guy back in the day that rode a 500 Gamma that had a hook where his left hand had once been. He had a bare bar with a hole in it on the left that he would run the hook through and had the clutch below the brake on the right side. Sounds tricky but it worked well for him.

 

Spyder? no clutch, thumb button for shifting. Goldwings coming out with auto, but would an air shift work? I don't know if you still have to use the clutch or not.

 

Anyone want to trade their VFR 1200 DCT for a 2009 Ducati 1198 and a 2006 VFR800? Hell, I'll even throw in a 1998 CR500.

 

I am sure the price for your two bikes can get you a VFR1200 or FJR1300

You might be able to rig up a pedal type clutch. but probably a horrible idea hahaha.

 

Aprilia makes a clutchless bike. I believe its called the shiver.

Didn't think it would come to this, but the hand is in bad shape. Doc went so far as to say that 100% recovery wasn't a realistic goal. However, I'm spending countless hours undergoing rehab (hopefully not in vain) to prove 'em wrong.

 

Man, screw that, keep the current fleet and prove the doc's wrong!!!!!!!!!

 

Pingle enterprises makes an air shifter for just about any road bike. I would look into that before trading in your fleet for an auto. Good luck.

 

The Pingle website looks promising but I did not see a "bolt on kit" for the VFR as with other bikes. The site states that the clutch is still required for starting and stopping.:frown:

 

VFR1200 DCT seems like the best choice at this point. That way, WHEN I get some manual dexterity and strength back in the hand; I'll still have a clutch.
But DN-01?:crazy:? Not unless it was absolutely the only 2-wheeled machine I could ride.

 

well when i broke my left leg in 5 places i was told i wouldnt have 100% use of it again i proved em wrong even after gaining all the weight now its tym to get the weight off working out and the left leg is 100% again even though there is about 5 lbs of titanium screws and plates in it... if you needa second opinion dr seronian in phx az who was my final doc on my leg and got it where it needed to be after his first surgery my 3rd surgery 2 from the first doc 1 from dr seronian hes def a miracle worker.....

i have to snag the vfr1000 motor first next tym im in cali then i will snag that cr off of you i drive big truck and only have so much room i will have to transport the cr on the back between the trailer and cab so i will have to get a rack for it i may just street legal it and use it as local transport lol its def light and small enough..
