Picked up my new VFR yesterday and was instantly impressed by the smoothness of the entire bike. I live in New Hampshire where it still really is not motorcycle season but I like to push it, the air temp gauge read 38 F when I pulled out of the dealer. In the first 24 hours I have only managed to log in 60 miles due to work but I anticipate putting another 100 in tomorrow (it should be a high of 40). I chose to go with the Honda heated grips for the bike and am happy to say that they are very nice and are noticeable through thick gloves. My only complaint about this bike is the rear license plate setup (in the US) with the flimsy light extension. I definitely will have to clean that up a little. Does anyone have suggestions for aftermarket exhaust that will work with the Honda panniers?

Congrats on the new purchase, and welcome to the sight.

Dig through the forums here using the search function. I know there have been a few threads posted on aftermarket exhausts. Not sure which will work with the panniers, but many of the threads have photos as well.

As for that flimsy rear light, a Sawzall should take care of it!

Welcome to the site, and congrats on your new bike! :) I have installed the Akropovic (low mount) and it works with the factory bags. Best price I found was indysuperbike.com at $749. ...not cheap, I know, but you do get what you pay for.

I run mine with the baffle removed and it sounds fantastic, but not too loud (sounds like a 1200 should). There's some photos of it installed on my bike as well as a sound clip in My Ride Report from a couple weekends ago.

I haven't cleaned up the tail light yet, but it's on my list.

    Congrats again!!!

I was able to take apart the plate light and put it back together without the spacers and side reflectors. No cutting neccesary.

Name the time and I am in, probably will not be clear for another 45 days or so.
