I have to stand by my fellow Canucks!

I too have run my 3rd gen without the pipe installed but it was waaayyy too loud for the street. However it was an amazing symphony of sound that I will never forget! When I joined NESBA the members requested that I do a lap at Road America with the pipe off just so they could hear the roar.

Now plug that dang thing up till ya get a decent pipe for her for all our sakes.

Peter Fonda? Anthony Hopkins? Dennis Hopper? Marlon Brando? Elvis?

Popular theory has it that the last three are RIP. Not true. They were frozen in LN2. Fonda only seems that way.

Alternative: Chuck Norris, whose acting is much like watching a 2X4 or the metric equivalent.

I don't run a straight pipe but I have no baffles anymore and my stock can is shortened 8 inches. I think the fact that there is still somewhat of a chamber there creates some muffling. ANYWAYS it seems loud (in a good way) to me riding it. I always wear earplugs anyway, but a friend of mine rode it around the block one time and it wasn't nearly as intrusive as I thought it would be. Not even CLOSE to a de-baffled Harley.

They are, for some reason their has been an increase in overly loud modified custom Harleys acting like mobile road blocks when heading up my closest mountain range twisties. They're harder than diesel SUV's hauling horse floats up hill to get past and not much faster than them in the tight 10 to 15mph corners.

Sad but true, mix of higher Oz dollar and shows like Orange County Choppers has meant normally non biking nitwits importing them thinking themselves " too cool " to be passed.

Do they ride in tandem there too? What is fun is to blow by between them, though I would never do anything like that...

That tandem shit dates to the days when American bike cops had no other form of communication other than hollering at one another whilst riding. Not real smart when one considers the losses of good men because of adherence to some antiquated tradition from great granpops day.

They usually only ride tandem on the Freeways which doesn't bother me, the thing they do that ticks me off is when the ride up mountain twisties they're hard on the brakes walking pace around the corner then accelerate flat out once out of the corner hogging in the center line of the road, yes read " road " not their lane then hard on the brakes again, repeat all the way up without yielding or allowing obviously better riders on Sports bikes to get past.

What frustrates is the only opertunity they leave to get past is under brakes into a corner cutting them off which a mate on a Gixxer did after being stuck behind one particularly arragant fellow 10 minutes, after the inevitable confrontation at the top Coffee shop he had no idea he was the idiot and cause. Note I'm not talking "outlaws" rather show ponies thinking they're cool on expensive modified HD's or choppers.
