    Leo Vince cf slip ons!

I just installed a set of leo vince carbon fibre sbk oval with the conical end caps on my 02 vfr and I absolutely love them. They look good, sound great, and the quality of fit and finish is excellent. The instructions were a little gray but it was easy to figure out what went where once I got going. Great value for the money.(Got mine for 804$ canadian shipped to my door). Havent had a chance to ride it with them yet, still winter here so I can't comment on performance, but they sound pretty mean with the baffles out. Also no issues with the factory hard luggage clearing them if thats a consideration.
Just my 2 cents worth. Good luck with your search.

Decided to ditch the BOS exhaust idea. Never did hear back from any of the six emails shot to BOS and UK dealers. Even if they are available from Thune, $1,200-1,300 is really tough to justify. To my wife I mean...

Nice Cycle has the 'Leo Vince Exhaust Honda VFR800 V4 V-TEC OVAL EVOII ALUMINIUM WITH CONICAL END CAP - 2002-2009' (7641A) for $529.95, 'TJOOS' coupon code gets you 5% off, shipping is $17 - so $520 net. For that price I could get two sets and have money left over for hookers and blow for the price of the BOS system. Just ordered. Pipe City has them for $559 w/free shipping too.

    - Wife just read post. Scratch the hookers and blow. ...for now.

Will post pics/video/sound clips once installed. Thanks again for everyone's input. I love this forum.

Okay - just for the hell of it, I sent an email to Staintune in Australia asking about the availability for the VFR800 6th gen. I know the answer is predictable, but I asked if a minimum quantity threshold could be arranged, if they could be produced. I doubt they entertain such requests, but figured I might as well ask. I stated I was a member of this forum and may have several other members interested in the exhaust if it was available.

Again - will keep you posted. Still have the Leo's coming. For $520, I doubt anything can touch them for value, and from the clips I've heard - they sound sweet. Not looking for a screamer. Seems like the Leo's have a little character and soul. Anxious to ditch the stocks....

That's a good buy on the Leo's. I don't think you're going to find a much better deal than that. Congrats, you should really like them; so much better than stock.

Just spoke with some gal at CBT Imports, apparently they can get the Staintune's - $1,295. I asked if they ever go on sale - more to humor myself than anything. She said not really because they are 'pretty much made to order and are shipped from Australia.' Takes four weeks.

I read on one of the posts that they were not available new anymore. Seems like perhaps they are - providing you're willing to pay through the nose. Link below - FYI.

I got my FMF"S at OEMCYCLE $689.00 no tax, free shipping. If you want carbon fiber and no hanger strap. Very light weight also.

$1300 for Staintunes, no thanks. The $635 that vfrchick spent, with a free PCIII, is more indicitive of their real value.

Damn you, he was going to sell me the PCIII if the winner of the auction didn't want it, now it's back to looking...good score on the exhaust :)

I guess it sucks for you guys now that our dollar has parity. The staintunes are a high quality "can" and sound the ducks guts. But we (us down under) are all rubbing our hands together and buying the Leo's for half price from your online stores. Pretty much every thing really. We have never had it so good.
Don't matter what you bolt onto the viffer, the gains are not going to be that much. And it sounds like they want as much from you as they do us. $1200 for staintunes or $700 for the Leo's mmm it's not rocket science.

Well, I personally wasn't looking at pipes for performance gains. For me it was more esoteric than that.... the pleasure of loving the tune my baby plays. And I don't care how much anything costs, there ain't nothing that plays a sweeter tune on a VFR then those Staintunes. Leos were my second choice, but I've never been one to settle....

You can can say that about anything, why get a $8 burger at a restaraunt when you can get a $2 burger at McDonald's. The Staintunes are full stainless steel which is more than regular steel and they polish them up (which actually I would rather they didn't personally), and they have the added feature that you never have to repack them as opposed to most aftermarket mufflers.

^^^ That's my point. I'm not bagging on S-tunes , or anybody's choice to use them. I'm just saying that $1300 for heavy stainless steel is too much, especially when you consider that titanium and CF are more expensive materials, and are available for much less in either the Two bros, or Leo set-ups.

Me either. Hey I am an Aussie and proud of it.
Over here we have to pay more for the Leo's than the stains. But if we buy online from the US the Leo's drop by half and that makes the Staintunes which are made here in Aus quite dear. Too dear. Shame really. I wish I could walk into my local bike shop and buy here for what we can online. You would think the wholesalers would wake up to the thousands of dollars floating offshore into someone else's hands. God we are even buying our tyres over your way and shipping them back for a lot less than what we pay here.
