I just figure that I am invisible to the population.... I expect everyone to pull out in front of me, switch lanes in front of me, merge onto the highway to the side of me. People think that THEY are on the road and everyone else doesn't matter because where they are going is MORE important than what everyone else is doing. No one drives, they just do the necessary motions to get somewhere........ ugh, i'm so pissed now, i'm going to go box.

But if they allegedly know where they're going, then why are they driving so friggin' slow to get there?

I have been seen in Virginia going backwards on the freeway at 45mph driving from the passenger seat.

Was some 15yrs ago or better. Driving from VA Beach toward Norfolk. Some jackass missed the split and crossed the gorn going no MPH while traffic was doing 65. I stood on the brake and attempted a bit of a swerve. Truck lurched one way and then the other throwing me into the passenger seat and spinning a full 180. Somehow I managed to drive it in reverse with one hand and not hit anything. Surprised the speedo worked in reverse.

No one bothered to stop and jackass kept going.

That is how I have survived after 300,000 miles of street riding . I have it in my head that no one sees me and ALWAYS be on the defensive , there a bunch of self absorbed ass wipes in gages

I agree with the comment about SC. I am currently in Oklahoma city on a business trip and I swear they teach everyone in the bible belt to drive like idiots.

EVERYONE stops at the top of on-ramps to "yield" to traffic and try and find a hole big enough to fit into from a dead stop.

Instead of pulling into parking spots, they will park 90 degrees across 3 spots so no one scratches their truck.

They will park their 4x4 on top of an island in a parking lot just because they can.

If 25 in a 50 is just fast enough then there you are. And don't dare try to pass or they will swerve into the oncoming lane to block you.

And my favorite, someone is going slow in the right lane (maybe 10 under). So you signal, move to the left lane, pass. When you get to a red stoplight and it changes to green, they floor it, pass and merge in front of you, and then resume 10 under.

There are soooooo many more that I am too lazy to write up, all of the above have happened to me multiple times, but here is a picture i snapped today, there was no one parked anywhere close to the hummer.

Kinda reminds me of a bumper sticker I see. "a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work". / A bad day riding is better than being stuck in a car. Saw someone once applying nail polish on the highway while driving 65 mph. I have seen countless idiots reading newspapers and maps while driving as well as just being stuck in grid lock. You gota disconnect your brain and hypnotize yourself to drive a car where when your on a bike your one with the machine and its you against the world. Just my mind set after 200,000+ street miles. Every car is an enemy and an idiot, but it still has not gotten old even after 27 years of riding. Cant say that about driving my car. Ok enough banter, Cheers, I needs to make a gin and tonic

Come on Mate, I love driving in Germany. Did Dusseldorf to Munich/then Dusseldorf to Kiel. If I lived there I would be going to the Nurmberger Ring every weekend with my Hayabusa. You could lend me your Ducati though.

Is that a loooong time ago? because the last 10 years it has turn to the worse, Nürburgring is something special, one only, and that makes a lot of fun, unless you meet Sabine Scmitz in b..... BMW or Merc, then please get out of her way, (She is very arrogant)
My Ducati? No, I don't think so . I would like see it back in the yard, not at the scrapheep, And you woulldn't be to blame.
Every day here is a challenge, do I get home or not, if you're on motorbike, Most of my riding friends, stopped riding on the road, all of says the same as me, to dangerous!

I had a friend who spent a couple of years in Italy. He came back to California. Wow! We were driving on a canyon rode in a new BMW and he was on everyone's tail honking and trying to get past them. I never seen him drive that way before.

It doesn't really matter where you are, you can't look around without seeing a lot of stupid.
