As the title states I want to know WTF is wrong with people today. We can all agree that talking on the phone or texting while in the car is dangerous but earlier today I was riding down the interstate and I glanced to my side and noticed some woman in an Audi A8 reading a book while driving down the interstate. Are you fooking kidding me lady? Is there any damn book that is soooo good that you can't put it down while you are driving a 4000 lb car at 70mph? Do people just not have any common sense anymore or is there something in the water making everyone more stupid? Anyone else have any interesting stories about the clueless idiots they have recently encountered on the road?

I probably shouldn't get started... How about those people with nobody in front of them and a line of cars behind them that can't bring themselves to go the speed limit or pull over? And there seems to be a growing number of people who come around corners with their driver's side wheels in the wrong lane. And why bother making manufacturers install turn indicators when nobody uses them?

Told you I shouldn't get started.

My biggest gripe of all time is when someone pulls out in front of you and they realize they cut you off and instead of punching the gas and accelerating as quickly as possible they just look at you with a stupid look on their face and accelerate at the pace of a snail. Now I understand that when traffic is heavy and you are on a busy road people get impatient and try to look for the smallest opening to jump in but the majority of the time when this happens to me there is very little traffic and nobody else behind me. Basically they are risking my life when they could have waited a whole 5 more seconds for me to pass and had a completely clear path.

It is true they are getting worse and worse. When I was in the military driving a 5 ton I saw a little lap dog and it was licking away in a very inappropriate manner.

I was driving down the interstate today in my Audi A8 while reading a damn good book and thinking I need to get my hair cut because I was recently mistaken for a woman and I look over and what do I see. This guy on a motorcycle watching me read my book. I'm like "hello...you're on a motorcycle, shouldn't you be paying attention to where you're going!" Seriously, that guy needs to start paying attention or he's going to get hit one day!

A lady pulled out in front of me about a month ago when I was driving my work box truck. Luckily I saw that she had not seen my huge white truck and began to slam on my brakes. Then the truck came to a stop about 6in away from her driver door. Instead of continuing forward through the intersection she hit her brakes, and stopped dead in the middle. The funny part was that she didn't even put down her cell phone, she switch hands and put the minivan into reverse and backed away.

I've seen two things that blew me away at the time... now It's just old hat...

    1. Saw a guy reading a newspaper while driving. He had it folded so it was all in front of him on the steering wheel at least... not sprawled out where he had to hold it with two hands and drive with his leg or something.

    2. Saw a guy brushing his teeth... and how do you spit and rinse?

Now, having said that, I used to change my clothes in my 1985 300ZX with T-Tops... It was a stick and I had to be very careful about NOT driving next to trucks or other vehicles that were higher than me and could look through the T-tops!! :) And, sometimes I'd eat pizza while diving and changing my clothes... and driving stick.

Where I come from (New Jersey), a blinker surely means speed up and don't let that car in... so that's why WE never used our blinkers. You had to get in position, then quickly move in. If a driver even slightly suspected you were trying to get in front, he would speed up and close the gap. It's brutal out there....

Ha!! I remember one time driving on the BQE and there was a looooooong ass line of traffic trying to get off at the Meeker/Morgan exit I believe. One car went flying by, thinking he was gonna cut in front and get off before everybody else. I was at least 20/30 cars back. Everybody worked as a team to keep that "cutter" from cutting and by the time I got up there, he still hadn't worked his way into the line... he didn't get in front of me either!! Hahahahahahahaha!!! Love that shit!! :) New Yorkers, gotta love 'em... self-regulating!!

What's wrong with 'em is that they don't ride motorcycles. How's the blond bimbo going to hold a book and work the throttle and clutch all at the same time? I say make 'em get out of their cages and the world would be a better place!

I can't remember the last time a saw a County Sheriff here not paying more attention to his laptop than anything which might be happening on the road.
