When I bought my '07 brand new back in August of '08, I purchased the service package so all of my services have been free, which has been great when money has been tight and I was learning about my bike. This past Wednesday I took it in for a free oil change and was told I have one more "major service" and the agreement expires 7/23/11. When I rolled into the lot, my odometer hit exactly 23,000 miles (there was 6 months where I barely rode at all due to being unemployed). My goal is to get as close to 32,000 miles as I can by 7/23/11 so I can use that last major service for the 2nd valve adjustment. I'm probably one of the few people that actually got my money's worth out of the damn service agreement!! :)

I'm posting here so all of you can keep me accountable. I'll post up periodic mileage updates... help me reach 32K miles by 7/23!!

BTW, as of today, I have 23,126. Tomorrow I'm riding out to Tecopa Hot Springs Resort in Tecopa, CA to soak in the natural mineral baths. Also riding to Shoshone, CA to hit the Crow Bar for lunch. More soon!!

Any hard numbers you'd care to share? Did your dealership provide an itemized list of what was done and did it follow what was stipulated on the original contract?

Wow, that's what you got outta my post? When's the last time you got laid dude?

I'm not exactly sure what you're getting at, but the contract specified x-number of oil changes, x-number of major services and 2 batteries. The owner's manual is what specifies what work is to be done. I will be getting a battery before July 23rd also... still have my original battery in the bike and it's fine, but I'll take a free one! :)

I could prolly go back and check all of my receipts but... I remember looking at the first couple, seeing that the proper service was done, noticing the prices they charged, especially for labor, and thinking that I was getting my money's worth out of the deal, especially the valve adjustment at 16K.

you could ride over here and we could do a few miles through some curves. check the R3 post and we could try some of those maps and see which will work best for the group.

Come on over for a glass of fine home made wine. I keep it out in the shed. There is no paint on the walls to peel off there. I am still on my original battery too Karen. And I have something like 72,000 miles on mine. I keep saying I am going to change it just in case but I am such a cheap pecker you know. Well not really but I tend to keep things until they are positively no good anymore. That service package might have been a good option for me to buy but I don't remember if they offered it when I bought mine. And I certainly had no idea I would be putting on the miles I did seeing as I was a virgin when I bought mine.

But yeah gurel. You ride that stud. LOL. Go see Reg and re-pave some of his local roads with rubber.

Randy, I've been thinking about doing an iron butt ride... maybe I'll make your place the destination!!

Hey, a group I ride with here, called the TWITTS (Two-Wheeled Therapy and Tea Society) is looking at doing Colorado in June... maybe I'll get to do that, and see ya!! :)

I was going to try the border to border brass ass thing for Slo this year but I can't go. But 2012 for sure. But I don't know if I can make the Canada to Mexico border in the required 24 hours. With my old aged bladder, I would need a tube running down my leg and out the bottom for sure on that one.

I should have kept track of my mileage going on these epic adventures in the grand metropolis of Atascadero

By hard numbers what was meant was a dollar for dollar comparison of what was done, the cost if what was done was paid for out of pocket versus the contract that was pre-paid.

I suppose in a way I was asking if you might be taking it in the ass from the dealership. That is someting like getting laid.

I did find the little banana dude you chose amusing in a Freudian sense.

I suppose I could make some good time at night time. But last summer a Washington State Trooper almost threw me in jail so I can't really go that hard. Going through the likes of LA would definitely slow me down. I would have to do some real figuring to make sure I was to go through there in the middle of the night. Then there is San Diego but I confess I have no idea what the I-5 is like going through there. Never been south of Long Beach. On the west coast anyways. And Yes, I did do the Google Maps thing and got the same time frame.

Oh. Just about forgot about Portfuckingland. I hate Portfuckingland. They use kindergarten art as plans to build roads there. Like quick sand, once you are in there, you can't get out. Did I mention I hate Portfuckingland Orifuckingon?

BTW. The thought of Reggie administering a cathater to me some how does not get my mojo going. I have never had one of those things. I am almost puking thinking about that?

I know you're not well practiced at taking advice (I'm not either), but I'll still offer, keep picking on me and Crusty, it will cost a ton less than blood transfusions and Cialis. (No banana smilie coming here).

Uh...PSST...that spells TWTATS...just pointing that out. Be careful how you say it.
You know, I am only 4 hours from you. I can show you a couple nice roads down here. You can hang out in Sedona(one of the most beautiful spots in the world)and it is full of girlie type stores. Then you could ride up to Flagstaff through Oak Creek Canyon and back home.
    Just an idea.

If not June, you should at least have CO on your bucket list. Let one of us locals know when you're headed out and we'd love to gather the V-4's and show where the good riding is.

Highly recommend you guys try to look at Ouray/Durango and highway 550. Also Rocky Mountain National Park can't be beat.

Is your advice free or are you expecting me to pay for it like you have to pay for that Filipina panucha?

If you and Crusty are planning a gangbang, the requirements are that you dudes dress up in costumes like the WWWF Smackdown types from Mexico City and bill yourselves as "Los Pendejos." Pix in advance.

I sure hope you are not reduced to taking any of those impotence "fixers" just to make it with any hookers. Getting keylogged from watching porn sites will generate ads and Emails for these chemical compounds. They can be dangerous and the chicas will know the difference.
