Im not sticking up for anyone but to berate someone is nonsense . It makes a person look as bad if not worst than the original poster. If being called a wanna be knee dragger is the worst Ill be called so be it. I have seen and heard squids on there Race replicas talk alot of trash on My VFR just to get eat up later in some twistys only to blow by me in a straight. I guess ill just call them a Wanna be! I still dont see any insult. My opinion. Im intitiled to mine as you are yours. As far as Harley riders not being a holes is a rarity, a large majority of my retired military brothers are Harley riders so lets leave this to judging a individual not a group for what they ride.

I too had an 85 MaximX. I sooooo wish I still had it. I had to sell it when I joined the USAF to buy a pickup to carry my shit in.

Hysterical chit fer sure. I couldnt afford a Maxim back then and ended up buying a ZL600 Eliminator. Buy what you wana buy. Even if i owned a HD I would have enough common sense to know an EX500 would wax its arse in a 1/4 mile or top end dual.
Crusty; i gots a Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, hope i aint a trollie

Technically the 1986 VFR 750 would of wooped his stupid fat arse! HD bikes will never be as fast as sport bikes or standard bikes even! They are purpose built cruisers and are meant for cruising. If the dude had highway pegs and monkey bars and white walled tires.....he must of been drunk if he was challenging you for a race. I would of definitely put money down if the prick kept pushing...

Posted this PIC and one other. I will get some PICS of my new love with the HD-N as soon as I get the HD back from being serviced.

Wow is about all I can say after tonight's ride on the VFR. It's been since the mid 80's since I've ridden anything that goes like this does. The VFR is everything I've read about and more just so nimble was able to do a tight u-turn without feeling unsafe, turns real nice, but the biggest thing I got out of the first ride is this thing has some great stopping power. Can't wait to take her on the first trip to Panama City Beach this weekend. I could never get that Isle of Mann feeling from the HD but now which way is it to the mountain pass.

Jeff, all real riders deep down are, "want to be knee draggers"

    Ride don't whine

I'm wondering about the dude whose retired military brothers mostly all ride Harleys. This would be an excellent use of the don't ask, don't tell policy IMO.

Maybe you should take the time to read through the posts and you will see I also stated they have RRs or track specific bikes and more than likely (unless you are a professional racer) have more track time in a year than you will have in a lifetime. You seem to be a individual with a cause. To stir the pot. Ive only been on this site for a short time. I am very open minded but to my discontent of making judgment I find myself having the opinion that you sir are a troll that scans this site to bring nothing but negativity to a conversation. Maybe you should Ride your bike a little more often. Meet real people and then you might have something knowledgeable to add. Hope things get better for you.

well, you know when I was doing Air Base Ground Defense training with Rangers, we always used to say how much we like Moreens. Hell our intstructr even would go so far as to say "There's no one I'd rather have take a bullet for me." Now that's love right there!

here's a funny for ya. I had a buddy 10 or so yrs ago that desperately wanted to knee drag. He rode in full leathers for a year or better and was pretty fast to hear him tell it. I had moved so I didn't ride with him after he got better. Anyway, he finally resorted to having someone drag him with their bike so he could scrape his pucks! How funny is that. A year or so later, he decided to just give up riding cause he thought he'd kill himself. He sold everything and now he fishes and runs triathlons and seems pretty happy.

    >>Damn dude, you need to read through all my posts carefully. Yep, it will take you awhile but it's worth it. It could expand your mind even more. It would even be better if you just got it off your chest and instead of being wishy-washy and tossing out opionions to just come right out with exactly how you feel.

How are you going to take it when you find out my real job is a greeter at WalMart after that defining moment when you decided I should go out and meet real people.

I can state without reserve you will really feel good and all your harleydood buds will cheer you on anyway.

Ya might wanna change that pithy tag you tossed up to "In God We Trust. All others must submit subjective evidence." this fits your posts much better than the original..

well.. I guess I will post a good experience with a harley rider story...

So today I ride up to Auto zone to ppick up oil filters and oil and everthing else to do changes on the SUV and Pick up truck... after I purchase everthing and load it into the tank bag and the tail bag. I see these two harley dudes sitting by the air pump at the gas station one guy is "under" the back tire aand the other one is sipping coffee and smoking a stoggie.. I pull over by them (only spot to park ) go in get a coffee and come out . say hi to the coffee drinker, His buddy got a flat and was trying to figure out how the plug set up worked. I asked if he minded if I took a shot at it , he was like "dude , go for it". well I got the plug in (only needed one ) in a few short minutes , and we stood around talking for a bit. had a nice conversation with the two of them. They were on thier way home to Santa Maria 70 ish miles up the road, and we talked bikes he said he would never get a Japanese bike cause they were way to fast , and he liked that his wouldn't go faster than 80, and that suited him just finehe likes to set the cruise control at 75 and just go with the flow.. any way, not all Harley dudes are douche bags, just guys out riding their Bikes livin' life...
