Silver is the fastest color, regardless of manufacturer.

With any speed limiters bypassed, which would then mean not technically stock?

Under bypassed conditions, I would imagine it would be pretty close between the zx Kaw models and the B-King /Hayabusas.

Since manufacturers dont like the negative publicity of ultra fast speeds in the non-motorcycling public, you'd have to go elsewhere to back up any claims of fastest bike, which may or may not be verifiable.

Here's an interesting footnote to guys riding those bikes:

In 2006 the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) converted a seized Hayabusa into a pursuit vehicle, setting up the bike with equipment including a radar unit, police lights and siren, and painting it in official colors and insignia. Impressed with the positive response from the public and the motorcycling community, the OHP purchased two more Hayabusas, to supplement their main fleet of Harley-Davidson police motorcycles. While they are used for patrol, the primary function of the Hayabusas is public relations and community outreach, due to the kind of attention the exotic bikes attract. According to the OHP, "There are clear lines dividing sportbike and cruiser motorcycle riders. We feel the sportbike community has not been given the proper amount of attention and focus in the area of community involvement and rider safety education."[69]
In March 2010, Humberside Police in the United Kingdom put an undercover Hayabusa on the road, equipped with speed detection equipment and a video camera, as part of Operation Achilles, which aimed to catch speeding motorists and motorcyclists.[

    What they are really saying:

Our Harley's are not fast enough to catch most performance vehicles today. So we needed a true power motorcycle for that. Even with the added weight we can catch all cars and most sport bikes now. Our Harley's are better suited for traffic control and escorting. Plus we connect with the younger crowd easier.

It must be the rev limiters that are holding the Harley's back.

A loaded question for sure, but I think I understand what you're getting at. In 2010, on some runway in the U.K., a test was conducted with the purpose of determining if the fastest of the 1000cc class had caught up to the fastest of the open class. So, using the same rider for each run, they fielded a Busa, an RSV4, the BMW s1000r, and a ZX-14, all in stock trim. The BMW, not hampered with a rev limiter, won with a measured speed (not speedometer) of 187mph. The Aprilia was second. Unfortunately, having just these machines lead to a skewed result, becuase there was one very important machine missing. So, to answer your question with the only scientific and unbiased method available, which would be the average measured speed during four passes on the Utah Salt Flats, it's none of the above. The real winner, and a bike that's never included in these so-called "tests", the MV Agusta F4 312R, produced from 2007-2009, is the current stock production record holder at something like 196mph. Coming in a close second was the Suzuki Bergman

A friend of mine who lives in the area took a stock Hayabusa to the BUB trials at Bonneville last year and ran 195 mph. His goal for this year is to break 200, but the 'busa will no longer be stock.

The mags have regular "shootouts" that have some info. At those velocities there is some rider skill involved as well as rider size. Some dude at 135 lbs soaking wet is going to have an advantage over some other dude at 225lbs dry weight. The "test" bikes are prepped and massaged by factory dudes too.

Anyone who is of the mind that speeds at Bonneville are real world needs to do some more homework on what it is to run there.

I doubt most guys here have really ever gone or could go that fast, unless they have a 1200 like mine that goes a thousand MPH. This according to the haole writ of 4 Bar.

Jay Leno has a bike with a 317shp (shaft horse power) turbine. The turbine weighs only 136lbs and produces 425 ft/lbs of tourque. HOLY SHIT!!! This bike takes the cake IMHO

Jay Leno's 200+mph 60,000rpm Jet Turbine Motorcycle (Wizbang Pop!)

And just FYI for those of you who dont know much about turbines - a gas burning turbine DOES NOT burn gasoline! Gas burning (or gas generating) means that it draws itn's power from the flow of combustion gas, which is Jet-A (high grade kerosine) or deisel fuel if you dont mind a little smoke :flame:
