Yeah I used to work with a woman who with her husband bought matching Hardleys, supposedly spending $60k + with dodads. They would commute together so I would see him often, I often commuted on my BMW K1200RS and the meathead husband would often ask when I was going to get a real bike. Going on about a bike that was clearly so uncomfortable how could I even ride it the 15 or so miles to work 3 - 4 times a week. Often decrying the unreliable nature of "jap bikes." Never mind that within 3 months of ownerships both Hardleys had broken down, one of them actually catching fire. After 6 months or so, both had less than 1,000 miles on them, while I had like 15,000 or so trouble free miles. So one Friday while he waits for his wife to finish up, he asks if I am going to some Hardly ralley in Sacramento, of course knowing the answer is no; and I say that instead I am riding up to Tahoe with a friend. As he calls out to his wife to hurry up, they have to get home and pack for their trip, I mention I am already packed and why didn't they pack their bikes last night so they could leave right from work?? They explain that they didn't want to drive to work with their bikes in his truck bed. I was like no, pack them and ride the bikes to work -- as my bike was packed and I was leaving for Tahoe right then. It then came out that they couldn't possibly right the 75 - 100 miles to Sacramento on their bikes, as that was just too far to possibly ride a motorcycle - any motorcycle. Especially back and forth in one weekend I explained that I was riding to Tahoe (about say 150 -175 miles) that night, and riding back the next day along the twisty side roads that would make the mileage even longer and take the better part of the entire day. He didn't beleive me.

Man, my Cessna flies half way across the country comfortably. For the life of me, I can't figure out why people would buy some open cockpit biplane.

    nonsense I say.

YEARS ago, I was riding my 1973 Yammie RD350 from Brunswick GA to Jacksonville FLA. on Hwy 17. The RD liked 75 to 80mph cruising speed and I was clicking along at 75mph. I hear a noise and look over to see an old, stripped down Electra Glide with 2 full size GA rednecks on board, both looking at me as they passed at maybe 80mph. I didn't like being passed, so I wick her up to approx 85 and pass them back.......... a few minutes later here they come...maybe 90, and they pass me back, again with both of them looking at me. So, I lay down on the tank, grab the left fork leg, and give the RD full throttle. Pass them back at maybe 105mph (just about tops for the RD). Again minutes later they pass me back, Harley wallowing away, now trailing some blue smoke. I didn't have anything left so I slowed to 75, and went on my way.........that's the only time I've ever had a Harley beat me, but the look of those 2 was so funny, that I laugh about it every time I remember.
Last Year my son & I were out blasting around, with the boy on my ZRX1200, and me on my 1970 Guzzi Ambassator 750. We are going right at a light and a guy on a garish bright orange and black full boat road glide was turning left behind us from the other direction. I look in the mirror just in time to see him grab a big handfull of throttle, I'm sure to blast past us. Of course The boy takes off on the ZRX, and I wind the old Guzz up. The guy couldn't pass the 1970 Italian harley (Guzzi). About a mile up the road we stop in a left turn lane and the guy blows buy, making an enormis amount of noise, just really glaring at us. We got a big kick out of it. My 1970 Guzzi probably makes 45HP.........but it weighs 440lbs gassed up!

That Deals Gap clip never gets old. Every time it pops up I watch it several times. That's the first time I've seen it with the post accident commentary from the cagers. Pretty good stuff, "We better get out of here, they're gonna beat our asses". Far too many mistakes being made by that poor bastard to pinpoint a sole cause to the accident, although stupidity has gotta be numero uno.

I couldn't help but laugh at that commentary too. At least now we know why they left the scene of an accident where someone could have been severely injured.

Doesn't anyone find it thought provoking that we expect the world to get along regardless of differences in religion or sexual orientation. Someone is supposed to take the high road and be the better person. And yet folks can't stop hatin' based on what bike someone chooses to ride?

I'm not good at keeping track of vehicle values but I'm thinking a 200mph Ultra would be worth a FORTUNE!

Ive got friends that have ridden Harleys for 30 yrs and quite a few of them also own everything from stock GSXRs to Streatched out ZX-14 drag bikes . Some do more track days on there alternate bikes than most sport bike owners. Its a personal choice as to what to ride and when to ride it not a peer pressure thing. This Harley Dude were talking about that runs off at the mouth is the minority not the majority of Harley riders. Most are extremely knowledgeable about MC and there capability's. I joined this site hoping to meet fellow VFR owners with A passion for not only the Interceptor but Motorcycling in general no matter what you ride. I have read and re read what Seemedo posted and am at a loss as to where he insulted anyone or there intelligence. He owns a Harley. OK. He also has a Honda Interceptor. Heck I own 4 bikes and posted a pic of a VTX 1300c which is a cruiser. I own it because it a lot more comfortable two up .When going on a trip with a pillion and luggage I prefer to ride a cruiser. When going on shorter trips we will take the VFR,again my choice. For those that continue to possibly run off a good information resource re read his post and explain to me why you continue to act like a playground bully picking on the new kid Because I Dont get it. Hes got two bikes and likes them equally. Im the same I like my cruisers for different reasons.
