:smile:Hi this is Chaitanya from Hyderabad, India. A huge motorcycle fanatic with special love for the 70's/80's bikes. Had been riding ever since I was probably 10 yrs or younger. Motorcycles are always on my mind, its a parallel world for me. I like big burly bikes and naked/retro as they have more character & connect with my mindset of what a bike must be. I love to keem em clean and tidy. I tour whenever i get a chance with my adventure cam and mix the whole episode with some trekking and outdoor stuff.

Current collection is a '84 VF1000F, 83' Yamaha RD350B, 2010 Yamaha Vmax, 2006 Suzuki GSX1400, 2001 R1. Had a CB750K American and a CB350 '72 but both had a lot of resto work from the ground up & I didnt have the time nor patience to put in such work when i like to spend my time riding and cleaning my lot. The VF has been currently stripped for a paint job but been thinking of converting it into a streetfighter. This year im getting a CBX1000 from the States, hope to find a good example.

Im sure im gong to make some great buddies out here in the forum. Look forward to your support.

    Chait

Like Drewl said, not many from India. There were a couple in the past but they seemed to just fade into the back ground once they posted up. Stay in touch. You are welcome here for sure. And pix are definitely a must.

Welcome to the forum. How did you acquire your bikes? I had a buddy from India a while back and he told me that it was difficult to get the larger displacement bikes within the country. The bikes were mainly 250cc or smaller. I don't recall if it was that they were not imported or if it was a cost / expense issue.

    :welcome:

From what i've seen of Indian roads, there is nowhere to get that V-Max or any other of your fine collection beyond first gear, eh ?? Unless you don't mind stuffing it into the side of a cow.

Oh yeah ridin back here is a real bitch.....but its been getting better lately with new roads and expressways. Its the utter lack of civic sense thats a real pain in the ass. When we dont hit the highway, I pick sunday afternoon's to ride abt town, no traffic and peace for an urban assault.

I do know a few Ravi's but is a common name and we are over a billion people here so unless u pin him with a city, motorcycle he owns, and more details, no chance of knowing him.

Post 2007 April, 800CC and over New Motorcycles are allowed for import with EU Type Approval and EU3 Emission norm certificates, duty is a around 84% and yes that makes em very expensive but earlier the duty was some 130% so thats a breather. Anything under 800cc will attract fine and penalties unless they are first sent for homologation. The market since 2008 has been around 1000 units per year, if every manufacturer offered more range.

Contrary to popular belief the roads now encourage a 180 Mph easy, the spoke in the wheel is that road manners are zilch, so even if we have great roads in some places, we got to be careful, thats what happens in a civilization that 5000 yrs old which can still keep itself together, things take time. Yes there are occassional cows but skill over speed.

I put up the pics on Members Galleries, can i link em up here?
