    men, I'm getting old....

I woke up this morning 1/2 hr earlier just to go and take the pict of a fantastic "Merry Christmas" sign I KNEW was on Orchard Road. (It is out of my way to the office)
When I reached the point where I KNEW the sign was (because I drove past a few days ago), I was surprised to see that the sign was just a bunch of lights and ornaments, but no Merry Christmas writing to be found.
Ok. I must have imagined it....

Next option... there is a shopping mall on the way to the office. I KNEW they had a big "Merry Christmas" sign with red bows and some lights on the main entry. It is not as beautiful as the one I KNEW at Orchard Rd, but it should do.
When I reached the mall, I was surprised that the sign was in fact red with bows and stuff; but instead of "Merry Christmas" it said "Happy Holidays".
Damn! I must have imagined it too.

Fine. The last option was going a bit off course again and stopping by a street close to Little India, where I KNEW there was another big "Merry Christmas" sign that you drive under.
When I reached the street, I was surprised that there was NO F*&^G sign... at all!
Grrr, The Grinch must have been there recently.

I am writing this Epic Failure before leaving for our Christmas dinner at a friend's house.
Since I am way ahead in the time zones, I must be able to find some place with a Christmas sign that I DONT KNOW ABOUT and send picture(s) tomorrow before the deadline is up.

We'll see; but don't hold your breath...
Alzheimer's is killing me, and I'm not sure I will find the bike's key. Perhaps I left it in the fridge?

It only need say "Merry Christmas" in spirit. Any one of those you mentioned would do just fine. So would parking near or in front of a decorated tree. In front of some angels. Hell. Park under some mistletoe nose to nose with a Harley. I mean it is Christmas. And post all the same themed pic you want. The more the better. Anything in the picture that indicated the photo has a Christmas theme. You in your birthdays suit does not cut it.

Yeah, I failed today too, went out for a ride, left the camera at the house and forgot to go to a couple places that I KNEW would have good Christmas displays. Getting harder and harder to find "Merry Christmas" signs anywhere, frackin political/religion correctness. Fuck that MERRY CHIRSTMAS ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well....not as many as I thought would be posted but then the weather for most has really been the pitts. I think I am going to call racostan the winner of this one with his last photo, the one titled "Christmas Spirit? I like the simplicity of iot. The VFR and a Santa hat.

    Next challenge Stanley

    Stanley says:

Your VFR under or next to a Christmas tree.

Given the weather conditions, let's keep Randy's disclaimer: It can be just in spirit.

-It can be inside your living room with blinking lights (I've seen somebody who did that before)
-It can be outside with a fake tree and lights.
-It can be outside with a live tree and snow.
-It can even be inside your garage... have your 3 year old drawing a freaking christmas tree in a napkin for you; and take the shot!
    - Or any other creative option you can come up with...

I just want someone to win this

I tried to image host that pic too Metallican.
Couldn't get it to work either.
The pic size is 100x75,used for avatars.
Dunno but I think that might just be to small.

Might wanna retake that pic Mike and set up the picture size on the camera for 640x480.
That's the standard size for message boards.

OK. Let's stretch the imagination here a bit in order to help the "creativity"... but most importantly to keep this thing moving -even if the northeast is under 3 ft of snow.

    Mike, you are it.
You get to chose the next challenge.

    Thanks Racostan.

Three feet of snow! Phew, hard to imagine from where I,m sitting. Would drive me over the wall even further. Since my daughter got her license and emancipated my car, I've been totally reliant on my two wheelers for all my transport needs. Been doing that for almost a year now and just can not handle being stuck in a cage in traffic any more. Us Capies are fortunate that we can ride all year round as long as you don't mind getting drenched every so often.

In sympathy with our brethren whom are subjected to less favorable climatic conditions, I wish to request pix of your VFR,s accommodations. Mine just gets placed in a garage at night, but I'm sure some of you, especially those who's bikes hibernate in winter, have some pretty luxurious if not over the top places and facilities for that purpose. If your bike "sleeps" next to you in your bedroom, in the lounge next to the fireplace, do you have a wall to wall carpet in your garage with an electric blanket covering the bike? Take a pick and post it. Sure to be a winner. Then again, even if you do not go to those extremes, still be interesting to see how and where your bike spends it free time.

Hope this brings the home bound riders of the north back in the game. Have fun, be creative, don't upset the wife! (too much)

Judgment day on the day of new years eve!

PS. Capie = Person living in or around Cape Town, South Africa.

Well, I kinda made that up...
I read that NYC had 17 hours of storm but not sure what the snowfall was.
Saw picture of guy with skies on times square; and humongous piles at JFK.

Boston 22 hrs and around 20something inches.
No idea how bad was up north. Any report from our Canadian vfr-ers?

    What about Midwest?

Mount Washington Ski Resort on Vancouver Island over the last couple days has gotten over "10 feet" of snow. And it is still coming down. A present world record they are sying. They are actually trucking the snow off the mountain cause there is now where to put the stuff they plow off the roads. People are tunnelling between their cabins there.
