Lost a Honda hard bag. I bought the bike used and the bags had scuff protectors across the front of the bag and on the bottom. The dealer said the previous owner had bought the scuff protectors in Europe. My dealer called Givi USA and they said they did not have scuff protectors for their side cases. Has anyone heard of anyone selling scuff protectors for the Givi honda bags? The bags look like Givi PLX cases.

Pics of said "scuff protectors" would help greatly. They could be regular car side mouldings, they could be clearshield, they could be some crap from Home Depot. :worthless::welcome:

    Thanks for the reply.

These are actually some kind of hard plastic? material molded to fit the hard bags. I will try to post a photo tomorrow.

You may want to contact David Silver Spares in the UK. They are very helpful via email. All my "Europe only" VFR farkles have come from them and as said, they are helpful. Here is the link.

I have never seen hard molded scuff protectors but I made my own with the 3M paint protector film. For the Consumer I found it on ebay very cheap, cut to fit, very easy to install. Wherever there are curves just use a hair dryer or heat gun.

could have even used BMW bag scuff protectors, since BMW offers them for their bikes
are the guards along the top, where you might slide your boot along the top? Or along the bottom front where they might get pelted with rocks while riding and where they might get scuffed when you put them down at a hotel or such?

I see a number of items there (at David Silvers) that could *possibly* be what you're looking for, but again without pics - we're taking shots in the dark here. Good luck in your search.

Me TOO. It would probalby be easier to find a zero-mile NR 750 than a set of these. If by some miracle they're located as new or NOS maybe a group buy could be arranged. My wallet - R.I.P.

    Thanks to all.

Maybe some of our European VFR riders know where we can order from. For now I have one bag with them on and one without.

    Thanks

Thanks for this great idea. I scratched the shit out of my hard bags this summer. Caught the neighbor kid using one as a step stool on the rough cement floor in front of my workbench. That really hurt.

Check out Honda part numbers 08P69-MBT-800A and 08P69-MBT-800B. I found them on ebay.uk at a shop in Surrey, south of London. Doble Cycles. Talk to Ian - nice guy. They'll run you about 50 Pounds for the set. Remember to multiply the price by about 1.6 to get the price in US $. Same for shipping, and there may also be duty at 2 1/2%.

Ordered a set from Doble Motorcycles. Total shipped to my zip code came out to about $112.00. International shipping is expensive. Again thankyou Cogswell.

    Thanks for this post.

I thought they were a great idea. I ordered a set on Feb 1st, 2011 and much to my surprise they arrived today.

They are "Genuine Accessories, Honda Access Europe N.V."

    Nice stuff

    I ordered them from

    DOBLE MOTORCYCLES in the U.K.
Honda Motorcycles, New Used Honda Motorcycles Surrey Doble Honda Motorcycle Parts Accessories Dealer

    I would highly recommend them.

Cool. Glad that worked out for you. The fun part of these forums is the give and take of info and ideas. Some times ya gets and sometimes ya gives. I also placed my order with Doble and they shipped the same day and arrived in less than a week. It was a very good experience. I also recommend them.

I also bought a pair of the Honda logo valve stem caps - they're very nice. I wish I'd bought 2. Oh well.
