Merry almost Christmas all. It has been a bit sine I posted last and at the time I was tracking down some bizarre fi light issue I was having. With my beloved machine taken down to parade rest I "think" I have the issue nailed. It appears that there was a broken filament in one of the turn signal bulbs and one of the head lamp bulbs that was making intermitant contact and causing some feed back through the electrical system. This in turn (and in theory) was causing the fi light to come on with brake and turn signal usage, again it is a theory.

So, with the OEM headlight bulbs going for nearly $30 a piece I was hoping that someone might have a part # for an after market bulb that is a little less costly.

Thank all and have a great Christmas.

I belive, that most people around here are using regular auto H4 bulbs and modifying the mounting surface of the bulb with a pair of tin snips. A quick search for 5th gen headlamp or something like that should get your answer for you. Or some 5th gen guru will be along shortly to answer in more detail. Glad you got the problem hammered out, I know you were :frusty: tryin to figure it out before, Merry Christmas too!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I kept searching I did start to see a lot of adapting H4 bulbs. I was initially concerned about the different wattage but with this many people doing it I assume it has not been to big of an issue.

If anyone has any pics of the mod process that would be much appreciated.

    Thanks again.

Been a while since I did it last but the top of the bulb will fit and the two tabs at 7 and 5 oclock just need a little loving. Put it in place and trim to fit.

Got the H4's trimmed, mounted and fit perfect but what I thought was the issue was not, SHIT!!!!!!!! Back to the drawing board.

Merry Christmas all and for those of you that can get away for some two wheeled holiday cheer please put in a few extra miles on my behalf.
