    I have been very curious about these spockets - they would be lighter than steel. I have yet to find anybody who has used them. I'm tempted next go around.

    I have them, not enough miles to comment on longevity unfortunately. Nice to see that they are offering a a sale right now.

    My concern would be the wear effect they could have on the chain, being made of a harder material. Last I checked, a high quality chain was the most expensive final drive component.

    They also make & sell a Titanium chain, or at least they used to. It however does not have a lifetime warranty, although they claim higher mileage.

    These are worth reading through;

    New Titanium II Sprockets on the GX - ADVrider

    http://vfrworld.com/forums/mechanic...r-sprockets-chain-krause-racing-products.html

    Dragone19, I think that the chains do not have O or X rings, as one of the statements is, "They also provide the narrowest profile where clearances are a concern." I just walked out to the garage to measure the offset of an RK 525 sideplate due to the X-ring, and it's about .050" per side, so a chain could be reduced in width by about .100" without using seals.

    I was assuming that, but thanks for your input. My DID X rings are that for the most part as well. which questions the longevity of the chain again with Ti sprockets. hmm

    Yeah, I figured you did. I guess if clearance and/or weight really is an issue, they might make sense. I don't know about the silver or gold plating, though... :smile:

    Maybe it's just me, but I always try to err on the side of reliability. I thought the sprockets sounded pretty neat when I first read about them, but I think I can pass and not feel bad about it.

    Interesting. I wear a titanium wedding ring because none of the others would hold up. At first I could see how it might be true but reading the testimonials at ADV changes my mind. Maybe it would work on low HP/torque Harley motors.
