NYC bike show Jan 21-23

alright guys, the bike show in NYC is comming around again.

Who's going and what day??

 

I lost my place to stay in NYC (nephew just moved to Syracuse), so I'm going to the show in DC (two weeks before the NYC show, I believe). Hope to ride the Viffer down and back, unless it's snowing hard.

 

I am a native New Yorker and for better or worse I love NY, but I gotta tell ya the NY International Motorcycle Show in NYC at the Javitz Centr is totally garbage and I mean total crap. I stopped wasting my time with that joke of a event, because I would never call it a Show (more like shizt). It is a ripoff extravangaza for residents, tourists and anyone else. Nothing good to say about the crappy joke of an event because it is all about greed and has nothing to do with bikers, riders, tourers or even real bikes. I find a lot of great Motorcycle Shows and Motorcycle Swap meets in Pa and CT. Last year while the show was going on in NYC with no demos, no test rides, no stunt show just nuthin - there were two shows going one update NY and another in Pa and both shows has stunt riders, demo rides, calendar girls that did a show and a lot of other good stuff and better vendors. Waste your time and money at the Javits International Motorcycle show if you want to, but the real NYC riders know the show is a joke and a ripoff.

I was thinking about going. To be honest, I do echo some of Emon's thoughts on that show. However, I'd always like the opportunity to get together with a few other VFRW members. As we get a little closer to the date, I'll let you know my thoughts. Maybe we (whoever that may include) can get together for either lunch or breakfast before the show?

Mikey, Friday is a much easier day. We'll take a 350, I always enjoy the parking challenge.

 

Might as well hook a trailer up to it then as well! Last time I took my truck in (last year around Christmas), I had to grease the hand of the parking attendant $50 in addition to the parking fee. "No big trucks" he said in his broken Engrish...

I could do Friday if that's what everyone wants to do.

 

I could do Saturday morning as well........more eye candy on Saturday.
We could ride in if the weather is nice. And don't gimme' some story. Timmythecop will be riding up from D.C. so we really have no excuse. Hey if we ride do you think Ed will want to go and where his ferret?:flame:
