Candy, you have something like 1280 posts here, if you havent figured out by now that nobody on here knows jackshit about the legal system in your state/county/town , or what insurance companies in aforementioned localities will do about it......you never will

I suspect that you know whats up and are just bragging that you got caught without your seatbelt...you incorrigible miscreant....now go and pay your ticket and tell us the truth about what happens next when you fuck up in FLA.

The utter stupidity, and the rationalization of said stuidity, knows no bounds.

Yeh you miserable SOD. Just remember there are alot worse places to live than south Florida. There is always either a nice bikini walking by or a swaying palm tree to check out.

    Limericks of Nantucket abound,
    From dreamers mostly snowbound.
    I believe instead,
    It's all in thier heads,
    And not very big around.

Well I'm not taking any chances. I installed a seat belt on my VFR. But it won't be pretty should I high side.

lol thats kinda my perspective on all this. i know i should wear my seat belt and take any safety measure i can when given the opportunity, but ive spent half my life on two wheels, dirt bike and sport bikes etc. its like when i get in a car i think to my self, "who the fuck cares about a seat belt? im in a cage packed full of airbags. this is a million times safer than a bike, w/o even putting the seat belt on..."

you know what norcal you're a fucking dick. i always bite my tongue when it comes to you, but if you dissapeared off vfrworld i wouldnt care. actually itd be fucking great, and im sure half the people on here feel exactly the same way. you have this miserable depressive persona that gets so fucking old. you never have shit for advice or possitive things to contribute to any discussion.
im sorry i ask for advice on this forum so much. im 24 and in college. shit happens in life. i figure the average vfr rider is in the 40 to 50 year range and more than likely has a better head on his shoulders than most. i look up to a lot of you guys and figure when shit goes wrong i could turn to vfrworld to find some good advice, and experiences with life in general.

Just to clarify (because I was being a smartass with my post about adding a seatbelt to my VFR), I always, without fail, wear my seatbelt when in a cage. I know the protests such as "what if I'm unconcious and underwater", or "what if I'm unconcious and the car is on fire". I'd rather play the odds, so I wear a seatbelt.

I do believe people have a right to wear one or not, just as I have a right to consider those who don't wear seatbelts dumbasses.

    Knife,

I always laughed at that one. What if I am unconscious and under water" I mean you are unconscious. What difference does the seat belt make? Somehow, people think they can escape a car while unconscious if they are not belted in.

BTW. Many of you know my background here. In 25 years, I never, and I mean never, pulled a dead body from a seat belt. Pulled a few curled under the dashboards of cars who were originally sitting in the back seat and the such but never in a seat belt.

I also laugh at those who say they are strong enough to hold themselves back in a collision with their arms. How fast can you run? Maybe 15 MPH max. Run at a brick wall...full tilt. Then just before you hit that wall, extend your arms to prevent your Mellon from hitting those bricks. Be sure you have someone there to call the EMT's on your behalf. Rant over.

I should have quoted the "unconscious" part too, just because that IS funny...

I was in an old WIllys pickup (1947?) with my godfather, which was scary enough to begin with (you'd have to have known him...). Seat belts had not been invented when that poor old thing was formed from metal. We were climbing a steep hill on a dirt trail and he pushed in the clutch to downshift into 1st (non-synchro transmission). The motor stalled with the shift lever in neutral and we started to roll backwards. He pushed on the brake pedal and that's EXACTLY when the master cylinder decided to give it up. Luckily for us, he saw a tree stump and turned into it, hitting it with his side of the truck. It brought us from 10 or 15 miles an hour to a complete stop in about 1 foot.

I was in pretty good shape, and I was holding onto the door as tightly as I could. I might as well have not bothered. I flew across the cab like a rag doll.

Flesh and bone don't amount to much in a mechanical contest.
