Looks great; A marked improvement over stock. Did you fashion that up yourself?

Yes Havcar, I make carbon fiber products for a living. Mostly for the experimental aircraft industry. But I do some stuff for a couple of Triumph motorcycles also.
    Thanks for your compliment.

I like that a lot and would buy one if the price was reasonable. Nice job.

    Nicely done!

If I could ask, do you have some behind the scenes photos of how you went about fabricating this?

I agree... I know that I mentioned before that it was an improvement, but with the carbon I think that possibly I like it better then most of the aftermarket stuff that I've seen so far.

If Honda could actually sell more of the bikes I think you'd be onto a seller here. I'd be interested if I actually had one of the bikes.

I don't have any pics of the manufacturing process Matt . I don't make bike parts to often, as my bread and butter is in the aviation industry. This part is made from a mold made with original part. It is 4 layers of carbon fiber material. The part is cured in a vacuum bag set up which draws out any excess resin. and makes for a very lite and accurate part. The clear coat is 3 layers of West System epoxy , wet sanded between coats, folowed by a UV clearcoat.
There are many other small details to make something like this, but I would be really rambling to get into that.
Most of the so called carbon bike parts on the market today are mass produced with poor quality materials. Some are actually black fiberglass !
If your interested in having a go yourself , I would suggest lots of practice with fiberglass, and and cheap polyester resin.
If you have any specific questions give me a yell. There's lots of info about it on the web as well.

Would you consider making one for me and what would you charge? That is a great idea and looks awesome. Thanks.

    Roger,

Best of luck in this endeavor! As I mentioned earlier your product looks great in my opinion and I think I like the stock exhaust with your cover looks BETTER then any aftermarket can out so far.

    If I buy a VFR1200 I'll be sending you business. :clap2:

Your next challenge is to do the end cap in CF.

    Great work.

I'm glad your making and selling them now! That is a great improvement. I bought a LeoVince slip on for cheap, but, if I don't like the sound, I'll sell it and get your cover for the stock exhaust. The older I get, the less loud I want my bike (so I will commit blasphemy and leave the sound killer in the Leo). Great mod that looks to be of OEM quality. Might a be a nice side business for you.

I just see this. Looks great. Anybody get one yet? How is it holding up? How does the cf deal with the heat? Any reviews would be great.

Very, very nice job. Looks great, especially with all the black parts on the bike. If I had a 1200, this would definitely be my first alteration. I'm not a big fan of Honda's shiny exhaust can on the new VFR1200 either and think your solution is a huge improvement.
