There has been a lot of talk around about whether or not the 7th gen VFR will even happen. It is my opinion that Honda must have someone who at least peruses fan sites like ours occasionally, and that they might be interested in our opinions. So here's your chance to speak your mind. What would it take for you to get out the checkbook?

Just found out yesterday that a young lady that used to work with my brother at Nissan (they both left when Nissan moved to Tenn.) now works in customer relations at Honda. If you want to know if your suppision is correct I can have him ask her, about whether they look in places like this forum for market research.

I voted Other also _ I would like to see more attention given to suspension (Ohlin) and engine HP. There should be two versions of the VFR. One for the dedicated canyon chaser and another version of the bike for a commuter/tourer type rider. A Touring Edition of the VFR should be packaged with Seat Cowl, Hard Saddlebags, Tail Bag and Tank Bag (with VFR type logo). Also, better footpegs and a Zero Gravity wind screen, and options for handlebar risers, steel brake lines, polished frame and wheels, and heated gandgrips and seat. Honda may also want to market a Honda Leather, Textile and Mesh VFR jackets more aggressively (I know there is a Honda Textile VFR jacket but it is kinda corny and there is no Yellow version of the jacket that I know of). Just a thought or two

Bigger engine, loose the VTEC and back to gear driven cams. An make the wind screen electric. So if you need more protection you can raise it.

RAM AIR!!! to polish off the top end power.
Back to gear drive, reduce wieght, stubby exhaust.
    Tour model= 800cc
    Sport model= 1000cc
If I was married to a woman(supr model) who HATED bikes, threatened divorce over a motorcycle and the VFR got a bigger motor and Ram air, I would stroke the check! Right now, I would keep the one I've got and buy the bigger motor bike.

About 40lbs lighter with a bit more horsepower ... everything else works for me (unless, ..... I could just make my legs a couple inches longer ....)

Improved suspension, more horse power, possibly greater displacement. I agree that a dual option package would be a great idea. One for sport riding puriest's(a sport tuned engine, suspension & braking) & one for commuter/touring duty (engine, suspension, braking better suited for touring, premium seating, hard bags, higher bar mounts etc. )

More horsepower, more displacement, sport and touring version with stock power outlet for accessories. I like the power windshield too but would add weight. Better seat too.

I guess I answered the poll before I understood the question. I thought you were asking where we thought Honda was going with a 7th gen. I would say I'd like it more sporty (more hp, lighter, better front susp.) but with the same riding position. If I wanted a more aggresive position I'd buy a 1000rr.

I like it pretty much the way it is (6th gen).

1.There are lots of good sports bikes around. If I wanted more sport I would go with one of them.
    2. The other sports tourers like the ST1300 and FJR 1300 are a bit big and heavy for what I want.
    3. The loss of the VFR as a true Sports Tourer would mean that basically the intermediate size Sports Tourer would cease to exist. I can't afford BMW's and I doubt that the BMW is as good at the sports side as the VFR.

I would like better suspension, at a riding weight of 200lbs the present suspension is a little soft. Also I would like a bit more bottom end but don't want to give up the other things like reliability to get it.

Reg71. I have noticed a couple of strange things with posts I have made recently. Either disappearing or going to strange places. I am guessing that there are a couple of glitches in the recent upgrades to the system.

Nearly exactly what I think for the same reasons, the VFR is exactly the right mix of Sports Vs Tour, don't want it too light or compete with the CBR1000RR and certainly don't want it fatter in the FJR class.

Just give it a fresh look, drop the Vtec, give it USD forks which is common enough now, upgrade the ECU & Tune for a little more hp everywhere without a leap in price.

I still lean toward a more sporty VFR - 125hp, 400 lbs dry, Ohlins fr/rr, ergos somewhere between a 4th gen and a ZX9R, decent wind protection. Like I have lobbyed for before, a V4 800 motoGP replica would be a checkbook clean out machine. If it dont happen, I'm going for the 1098 or Triumph 675.

I look at the 6th gen and the FJR1300 as being very close to the same class of bike - If I wanted a touring bike, I would buy one.

It would definitely be interesting to know. I like to think they 'listen' to us, the loyal VFR riders. Repeat sales on the VFR seem to be pretty good to me. I own two, and many others here have had more than one. Several have had 3 or more.
