Can anybody point me in the right direction as far as aftermarket handlebar switches for my '85 VF700F? I have tried bikebandit, denniskirk, ridenow, etc... and not having much luck on a sure fit. Am I stuck with the OEM, or will newer models work as well? I would like something a little more attractive than stock but if that is the way I have to go so be it I guess. Thanks.

    Here is the problem.
The bars are 7/8 inch diameter.
All of the road bike aftermarket accessories are 1 inch diameter. Lots of choices.

And all of the off road bikes use 7/8 too. No help.

If you can get steel tubing that will slip over the 7/8 and is 1 inch OD THEN you can do some customizing. OR see if you can get some one inch clip on bars.

I have a vf1000r chopper and changed all of my switches to one inch.
The start switch is a problem, but how you can solve it is take the 4 wires for the start switch and devide them , 2 wires for the start button and 2 wires to a separate light switch.

The way HONDA did it is really complicated. They designed the start switch so that when you hit the start button the light switch is temporarily cut out until it starts.
    Makes it a mess.

You can get a stand alone switch that can be used for the lights.
It used to be that way years back. Before all the people complained that the lights were not automatic. They did not have the brains to turn on their lights so HONDA made it automatic.
