anyone ever see a lower fairing like this? a local is trying to sell the whole bike and I'm trying to convince him to sell me the fairing.
if you do know what it is, ballpark estimate of what it's worth? I don't wanna rip the kid off.

Telefix sold through Spec II. Poorly mounted example, but you don't see too many of the painted examples still floating around in good shape. If the other side's not all rash, I would say it should be over $100, less than $200? I don't know, it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Slight detour...If I could ask, what exhaust do you have mounted?

They are Spec II slip-ons. Bought them new many years ago along with the lowers and the Telefix Profi adjustable clip-ons (that work great on this bike BTW).

Offer him $1 per cc for the whole bike and part that thing out. You'll get the spec and make a couple bucks.

Just got off the phone with Spec2, extremely nice guy. This fairing is still available, unpainted $299.

Said he actually had a few on the shelf (still in production).

HERE is his website and what he has fairings for.

He's sending me a pic of the fairing he makes for the V45 Sabre, can't wait to see what it looks like.

BTW thank you for asking what this one was, you saved me from ordering a beat up f2 lower from England :D, think I'll go with one of these now.

Detour again...do you have a few more detail photos? These are scaled nicely for the 500. A side note to this detour, I have a set of NOS Telefix Profi clip-ons on the clipboard to install - ordered them from a dealer in Germany last year and am looking forward to seeing how they change the ergonomics.

Did you add any rise to those clip-ons? If so, how much?

The bars are infinitely adjustable. I was able to set them up where they don't make the starter and horn buttons hit the tank or the brake levers hit the upper fairing at full lock. The riding position is so nice. Any lower and you would have to start modifying things.

Attention to detail when mounting is key to making those lowers look nice.

As far as the slip-ons go, I always thought they were a good size and style for the 500. And like I said, they sound great. Not loud, just really nice. And the bike runs really goo with them as well. No weird flat spots or holes. Up 1 pilot and main jet, needles shimmed, fuel screw caps removed of course (2.25 out I think).

    Cheers everyone!
    Mike.
