you know, I bought the honda pro polish here in cali at my dealer. i wonder if they cahnged the formula or something? it still seems to work pretty well for me... it says pro honda oils and chemicals in a little triangle at the tope and it says spray cleaner and polish across the middle. the can is balck and the text is pink. it's says it's distributed by american honda motor company.

If you look on the can you will see that there is a whole list of states that will not allow it sold there. Most of the northeast as a part of CONES (Coallition of North East States), they have all banned together to fight pollution and Honda Polish contains VOC's that have been banned for sale in those states. But all of these rich assholes can drive all the SUV's they want and pollute in the name of progress in order to build more houses and sububan communities. Thank God for the mid west and south where people can be free oh yeah and NH.

I really love Tourmaster luggage - every piece I've bought has lasted at least 5 years. Cycle Gear has pretty decent deals on it, especially if you sign up for their mailer and use the coupons. I got the clear bodywork protection sheets from Aerostitch.

I don't know how folks in California can stand so much government interference in their lives. It would drive me bananas!

Having lived in 4 states and driven cross country 4 times, I still choose to live in CA without hesitation.

    1) We aren't the only state that bans it, by far. I think someone posted in another forum like 6 - 8 states.

    2) The law isn't specific to the Honda polish, but rather against certain chemicals and/or delivery systems

    3) It isn't like there are not valid alternatives to this product that are availible, so they haven't eliminated a whole class of product entirely

    4) They aren't really interfering in my life, actually less so than some other states when it comes to personal matters. This is not an issue of what you can do, but an effort to limit the negative effect of certain chemicals on the environment that we all share and trying to inhibit the idea that one party would hurt it at the expense of the greater group. That is a worthy endevor, albeit sometimes culmbersome. But when you look at the fact that we have, in the US, something like 5 - 10% (depending on source used) of the world's population, but consume 75 - 90% of the world's resources, and contribute a HUGE portion of the world's pullution, most estimates put us well over 50% -- something has to be done.

Back to the luggage. I've been curious about this luggage too, though I'm more interested in the tail bag. Would you recommend the Tourmaster sport tail or the Luggage Locker elite?

As someone who has used both, if you are going to be using it a lot, spend the extra cash and get the Givi or the Hondaline (model year allowing), it really is just so much better to use, you will be much happier.

For a tail pack endorsement, Marsee has some really nice stuff.

Spike, I think you would stop to argue with a fencepost.

My middle brother lives in Burbank. He is continually regaling me with stories about just how different - and often frustrating - life is in California, coming from a Southern state. He is stuck, since he chose to work for Paramount.

It is driving him bananas. It would me too. Most Southerners regard the government with a wary eye, and I am no different. Noble cause or not.

Oh, and I like Cortech bags. :bounce:

Depends what the fence post would say:tongue:

And what you call arguing, I would call a healthy debate. Most political science minded people would agree that debate is a crucial part of democracy. Or aren't you for that anymore

And you still don't address my points.

Interesting that of the 7 or so states that ban this, you only point out just one.
Bitter about control of the House much?

Also you still have southern states where oral sex is illegal between consenting adults, inter-racail marriages are still potentially illegal. Now to me, that is govenment interference. Don't tell me what I can and can't do in my home that doesn't affect anyone else but the people (consenting adults) involved.

Not often prosecuted, to be sure, but when they are, they are applied a little unfairly to say the least. And I don't see anyone going to jail in CA for having the spray polish either. In fact, I am sure if I wanted to, I could find it pretty easy and that most don't ever look at the label bofore selling it. It isn't like there is a propellent police:smile:

Are there things that are a pain here, sure, but there are everywhere. Just different ones. And there are enough positives here to make it the most populated state in the country -- by far. Even though it is only the 3rd largest in land area. So somebody likes it apparently. And usually when you talk to people who have left, they dont say they didn't like it, most actually say the loved it; they don't say that the laws got in the way of the enjoyment of their lives; by far the most common reason I hear is the $$. And the cost of living is only the result of the HUGE number of people that want to live here, soooo even the biggest negative is actually a sign of the large number of positives.

Launch the Figther jets- this threads been high jacked! It has everything to with money and laws- most of the people who have left have done so because of the many laws that hurt medium sized bussiness to move to other states! why else would the Governor be going to other states to recruit back those bussiness that have left? they can't afford to comply with the laws! the grass is greener on the other side in this case. I have been to many other states and have enjoyed so many of their FREEDOMS that CA has repressed. oh and this is my second vote for Cortech series by tourmaster:)

I think one could go so far as to say that without debate (socratic dialog) there is no democracy; at least, participatory democracy. I venture that all values should be questioned, evaluated, and reaffirmed, modified or junked.

And, hey, I love California ... I just don't like their taxes. But do love those mountain roads ....

I couldn't agree more, Can you imagine the pollution if the catalytic converter or unleaded gasoline were never put in place, or if the government never put tougher regulations in place on Industry, I could go on and on but the truth is, we need to start taking some responsibility for future generations.

That made me laugh so hard, I had tears in my eyes, but my personal opinion is, tone is very hard to translate on the computer, and I think Spike is probable the poster boy on tone being misinterrupted on VFRworld, plus he type's 140 words per minute, how can anybody keep up

:focus: I love my Cortech sport motorcycle tail bag, only paid $53.00 for it, but does everything I need for the weekend get away...

Guys, I have a lightly used set of Tourmaster Cortech saddlebags for sale.
Here is a website with information...
    http://www.motoemporium.com/tourmaster/tribag/cortechsaddlebag.html
Years ago I owned a motorcycle accessory store in Palo Alto, California.
When we closed I kept several sets of Bagman (Vetter) Saddlebags. These
are a great bag that are not available anymore. They are also for sale.
If you are interested in either one of these email me at:

:peace: Yeah, uh Ok! First of all I thought Conneticut was the most populated state. Secondly who cares about what it's like in Cali. The best thing about Cali is the weather.
Last, everyone I know who has lived in or visited Cali has had the same opinion. The thing they didn't like is the people's mentality there and states like NY,Conn,Mass for instance fall in the same catagory. You seem to have this aoura that your better than the rest....so just relax and quit throwing daggers at the rest of the world. I live in NY and feel it is full of ignorant jackasses. But it's where I am and that's that.

Bottom line is that the environment is the most important thing for us all but we will never stop pollution because we are all too busy getting money to care....don't worry mother earth will shake off humans like fleas when the time comes then we'll all be equal again.....And that my friends is only my opinion....which is always right....:peace:

Spike - I'm a Freemason. The value of civilized debate is firmly impressed in me.

I'm pretty sure the most heavily populated area in the country isn't in California - it's in New York. In fact, the vast majority of Americans don't live in CA. They live, umm, elsewhere.

Ok, that was goofy. I'm sorry.

I could devote the next hour of my life, crawling the web for references to civil liberty, taxation, eminent domain seizure, police brutality, etc in CA. I could write a huge diatribe.

But I'm not going to. I just don't have that kind of time. Besides, it's just the internet!

I do know I'm not the only person who holds this opinion, even on this board.

I also know that if you and I were lucky enough to ever meet, we'd probably get along famously. People with strong opinions are usually fun to be around.

Yes. I was speaking from a population density standpoint. I believe that Conn is the most populated state per square mile. NY is not very densly populated unless your talking from an "ingnorant Jackass" point of view, then they may rank #1......LOL!

Every state tries to recruit businesses to come to them. I actually hear commercials on the radio about Michigan a lot lately? Does that work? A CEO is just driving along and goes "yeah, that commercial is right, I should move my entire company to MI!" Nothing against the mitten state, just seems like a waste of money to me.
And yet we still have enough jobs for people. And constantly rank near the top for average income (last I heard CT was at the top, but that was a couple years ago). So someone is operating businesses here. Depending on the source you look at I have heard that if CA were a country, it would have the 6, 7, or 8th largest economy in the world! So, we are obviously doing something wrong.

So what are the freedoms the state so mercilessly repressed with the iron fist of "the man?"

And let's remember it is only the will of the people, as if the vast majority felt things had gone bad, they could bring in a new group of representation.
Oh, wait, didn't that just happen?
