Small request here, If not to much trouble could you provide a mod list? Obviously you have F2 wheels but what about gearing? Chain, suspesion, brakes, etc.? That way I can copy your bike:cool:

    I'm just kidding...........but seriously I want a copy.

Just to completely correct, the internals that I adapted to your forks were CBR900RR parts. They required custom fork springs and I setup the valving to match your application. It was a lot of work but I think the results were worth it - I hope you agree!

    $6500 bucks ???????

That makes no sense! Crazy, obsessed, or just plain dumb?? You could have a year-old modern bike better in every way for that money.

Wow ! A CBR fan !!- the cherry on the cake. But what about fresh, new valve springs ?

I am SURE there are more than a few toys at your house that were less than sound investments. Regardless it's HIS money, and HIS obsession. Who are you to question it?

That's impressive. You wouldn't find me doing it, but I'll admire it all day long.

Matt - I'm in the same boat as you. I've got about $6K into the restoration of my '86 500. For me, it was worth every penny. I know that I can never get that money back out of it, but that isn't why I did it to begin with. I knew what I wanted and I did it - regardless of the cost.

What is prompting you to rebuild the motor? Is there a problem or are you just looking to freshen it up? By the way, keep up the nice work.

The motor on these bikes are so under powered I find my self riding the bike wide open. So I'm getting another motor and then its on to squeeze every drop of power I can get out of it. Thank you for the complement.

Something must be wrong with your bike...WOT on my old 500 and I'd be breaking all kinds of speed limits.

These bikes ain't no slouches. Even the new owner of my old 500 (who has about 50lbs on me) finds the bike quick enough.

Congratz on the build though....bike looks very nice.

Did you re dyno that thing yet? You had the old dyno run with the old carbs that thew down less than impressive numbers compared to the bikes original spec. You said you were going to re run it after the '85 carbs were installed.
