    LOL...very true.

Thanks for suggesting BC again. I forgot about him after I e-mailed him the first time.

    Anytime, glad this worked out.

On a side note - if you are going to pull the carburetors you'll need to re-synchronize them after they are installed.

Time for a new manometer in the toolbox..?

I think it's time for just any Manometer. I don't have one.

A great tool to have. I believe Michael E worked up a homemade version - as an option or if going new the trusty Morgan Carbtune is a good bet.

Billy Carr says the parts he sells are Keyster also.

I emailed him not too long ago- said he only had o-rings for the float bowl gaskets, not the squared versions.

Yea...his reply to me said O-rings too.

    Is that bad?

I guess if that's all you have to work with and they have to be replaced, what are you gonna do?

Six corners can confound an o-ring gasket though if you ask me.

Yea....I'm worried it may not fit correctly then I'm back to square one.

    I dunnoh.

Do I order the Keyster parts from Billy Carr and maybe get screwed.....or do I dish out the extra cash and get genuine Honda Parts.

The o-ring will probably fit properly but getting it to bend 6 corners and stay in place as you put the bowl back in will be a feat, one which I don't really care to attempt a go at.

    Me too

....and thanks for the link. I messaged the seller and asked for confirmation that they'd fit an 86 VFR750.

I bought O-rings from Billy for my 85 VF500F after the old ones were junk and leaking. Four of them ran me $7 also. And they were plain round o-rings, not the OEM squared-off versions.

And they have worked great. Billy told me a little secret on putting them on: glue stick. I only needed to do a few corners with it, but it stuck like a champ. Would definitely use them/him again if I needed more.

Thanks wgregt for sharing your experience. I feel better going with the O-Rings now.

IC....that link you sent me. I contacted the seller and he says they don't fit my bike.
    Thanks regardless.

You should be good to go with Billy C.

From everything I've read and from my e-mail correspondence with him he is a stand up guy. I am sure the o-ring gaskets and float valves he sells will do the trick.

I don't see the VFR listed on that site.

I've used a dab of silicone gasket sealer in the corners to make it stick. Not enough to come apart and go anywhere, just enough to make it tacky and lay in the groove. A thick grease works well too. If it comes in contact with the fuel while in service, it just dilutes and washes way without a trace. Haven't done it on the VFR but the application is the same as others.
