I'd love to put a big displacement sled motor in a worthy chassis. I saw an 800cc twin Polaris motor in a custom frame. 180HP! Yahoo, and no shifting. Lots of gas followed by lots of brake. Repeat. Can you imagine the launch from a dead start!

This is the sort of level of detail that really makes a build. I utter love this TINY piece of carbon and would have never thought about doing it there, but when you look right in, it's beautiful. Gives me ideas on my '94. Now if I could just find the time...

Thanks Mike. There was just too much silver in that spot. Some would never notice but when things jump out at me as being "off", I have to change it.

I cannot speak to the engine, but the bike is a VF500F.

The front fairing, side covers, wheels, seat, and frame gave it away (also having one as my fist bike in the mid-90's helped).

    Hopit,
Your project is looking great and seems to be coming along well, Congrats! Hey, did you lay down your carbon fiber yet on the fairing surround? I am planning on doing the same to mine and was curious how it went for you?

    Keep up the awesome work!

    Steve :)

Hey Steve, where have you been hiding yourself? The carbon fiber on the surround is all done among other various pieces. Just read through this thread for the pics. Buzz up this page to post #181 for a vid of basically what I did.

More items installed. The headlight is in as is the upper rad grill. I put in some new mirror grommets that I got at the Po. Pretty good match for $1.27. Works for the VFR750/700 as well I think. The Euro VF1000R's have the same mirrors as the '86 750/700.

That's weird, it almost looks like your upper fairing is in the living room.

My wife would never go for that!

It was 36 degrees in the garage this morning. My wife had no choice.

A very nice centerpiece on the dining room table, indeed!

The asymmetrical headlight is a real looker.

More work today. I got the seat bolted down where it's supposed to go. The carbon really likes the clear coat. Shinny and deep.

The rear turn signals and brake lights are on and functioning. I'm surprised how bright the LED's are. No wonder they're the future.

Not totally sold on the front signals. They'll do for now.

The seat is on but I'm no seat maker so it's just a temp. I'll make a better one in the spring. I really want to fire it up for it's first ride this weekend.

Too bad you did not see the CUSTOM DYNAMICS tail light.
It would be a perfect fit.
    57 LED's.

    Photo coming.

    These detail photos look amazing.

I keep wanting to holler 'zoom out,,,zoom out' but I definitely understand wanting to have this beauty complete before the official press release.

Can't wait to see this bike in an overall photo. I think it is going to be a show-stopper.
