Fuzzy spy shots but they do exist. Sat on one just now in my driveway. I can confirm a 998cc V4 motor with gear driven cams. I did hear it run and it sounds mean as hell. The owner quickly whisked away all evidence of it's existence so I was only able to snap these 2 low res pics. From what I could gather, the bike is unfinished, needing a wind shield, seat, turn signals, brake light etc. I am planning to sneak some hi res shots if I get the chance.

I've heard the 1050 triples have an issue with turning in left on tracks, it's engine related too. Can anyone chime in on this?

As for the odd numbering of engine cylinders, both otto and diesel cycles, 4 & 2 stroke, have been manufactured for years, whether for power generation, marine propulsion, or vehicle powertrain. They suit the timing to minimize harmonic moments for reduced vibrations, power pulses and torque applications, etc.

I've seen Saab diesel triples, little cute things, Chevy Colt had a triple, Volvo has a I-5 turbo. Big 2-stroke diesel engines, I've seen 5, 7, 9, 11 cylinder engines (all in-line of course). The firing orders are 'goofy' but regardless, they achieve design power and minimum fuel consumption.

It's an ODD world we live in!
