    Craigslist Ad: 1985 Honda VF500F - VIDEO

"Up for sale is my 1985 Honda VF500F Interceptor. I have been riding this bike all summer and put 2k miles on it, it starts, runs, and rides great, and is a lot of fun.

The bike has 7,900 miles on it (a bit more as I am still riding it), and is in great shape. A 1985 VF500F in such good condition as this is certainly a rare find. It runs like a top, and is a lot of smooth and comfortable fun.

    Video: YouTube - VF500F - Rebuild & Tune Complete
( I did not even plan on using this to sell the bike, I just took it to show my friends at school - completely cold startup. It starts right up because the valve adjustment, while tricky on Honda V4's is absolutely perfect.

    Maintenance done:
    - Valve adjustment (100 miles ago)
    - Coolant Flushed (100 miles ago)
    - Carbs fully rebuilt (800 miles ago)
    - Oil Changed (400 miles ago)

    What it needs:
    - A rear tire. (Low tread on current tire)

The valve adjustment and carb rebuild would cost about what I am asking for the bike. I bought this bike while I was at school in Vermont, and in that state you do not need a title for bikes older than 15 years. When I moved to NY I could not register it, so I bought a frame that had a title. Included with this sale is a frame to a 1985 Honda VF500F Interceptor that DOES have a title. This is the only reason the price is so low. You can swap the frames or not. The bike runs great, is in great condition, rides great, etc. It is not a rats nest of electrical gremlins. She starts right up. Check out the pics and the video! I've inspected everything on it, no surprises.

It has been a great epic with must see action and edge of your seat subplots!

You definitely earned your stripes on this rebuild.

I'm sure it is a bit bittersweet to sell this but I understand the desire to dive into new projects. Best of luck on the sale. Let us know how you make out.

Yeah it's mine, and thanks invisible. I plan on staying on this forum, I'm actually thinking about leaving the Kawasaki forum I'm on because it's pretty dead. I know I'm asking a little high for the bike, but I thought I'd start off high and work my way down. I really want to get my hands on another project, but I don't have the space for it.

There is also another reason for the sale, and it's part of a plan that's been in the works for a few years now. I'll spill the beans after I've told my friends and family, but they lurk on these forums to see what I'm up to, and I don't really want them to stumble across it prematurely.
