i am the owner of this 1986 honda interceptor, i bought it off of my sisters boyfriend it was in his barn and in pieces and i only paid 150$ for it, i have never owned a motorcycle before and he just wanted it gone , but while looking for my bike on the internet i have not found another one like it the bike is all original, my main question is, does this bike come with the white rims ? and i know that my bike is not missing any plastics or fairings, can someone please help me figure out what bike i really have?

    Negative on the white rims.

There - should be - a VIN tag on the right side down tube of the frame. This will note the model year.

If not on the side of the frame, then stamped into the neck/ behind the headlight on the frame.

The quickest way to answer your question is for you to post a picture. We can more than likely tell you the year and the displacement just by seeing it.

In the reply box, hover over the 7th icon from the left. The tool tip will say "Insert Image". That will allow you to attach an image from your computer to this thread. We're looking forward to seeing the bike. Hopefully we'll be able to make a quick identification for you.

easiest way to figure out what bike you have is to look at the title......... if you don't have one , pack the whole thing up in the back off a pick up and take it to a junk yard cause its a huge ass headache...

looking at the frame is a start....also a picture is good [ photobucket is a good one to load pictures too then load to here..

step 1. load picture to photo bucket
step 2. place curser over picture should give you a drop down menu that reads: email or IM
    direct link
    HTML code
    IMG code
step 3. highlight IMG box it should look like this when you paste it into the relpy box hereit: [IMG]

Step 4. or you can cut and paste from the direct link option but paste after you click on the seventh icon over on top of the reply box the picture looks like a square with a tree in it that will give you a box to paste your URL into... jsut make sure you only have one HTTP: in the box before you hit the post reply button.

good luck, and I hope this has totally confused you

    This fella?

If so it is an '86 VF500F with a repaint here and there - the paint on the chin cowl, frame, rearsets and wheels is not original.

Looks like the VIN tag was removed from the downtube as well.

Hope this is of some help.

    IC has it right.

Frame has been painted Blue....they must have removed the VIN tag then.

Mounting for the rear Pegs painted red. (Not a fan of the blue and red additions)

White rims aren't stock. Mine had them too but it was definitely powdercoated white.

Is it just me or does the Clutch cover look different?

thank you guys alot, and everything you said was what i thought because the only ones i seen were just like the one posted by IC, and to slow bird im not a big fan of the red and blue additions either, but like i said in the original post i bought this bike for 150 bucks WITH the clear title. i do need some mechanic help because like i said when i bought the bike the carbs were off i had them cleaned and sync'd but i believe i still need to hook up some vaccums, i know about the one that runs from the petcock down to the outer left side of the motor right below the carb boot. but there is four tubes that interlock the carbs and then it comes out the back in between the rear two carbs where would this go ? also it looks like there is a spot for a vaccum on the bottom of the metal intake plate? i looked into buying a repair manual but figured i could ask on here and get just as much luck as i would after i spent 100 bucks....... if you guys could help i would much appreciate it. thanks again chad
