$5500 does seem high for a kit but it's actually not for this particular kit. The supercharger alone is right under $2100 and I havent been able to find a cheaper price. That pretty much is retail and that's what everyone sells them at. You also have to consider that this one guy took his time, money, hands, and brain to actually turn a vfr forum "I wish" or a "I wonder" into reality. Also he didn't just piece things together like an ebay chinese kit and "say" it'll work. Every piece was made by him. Even the injectors are custom made to fit. I give BIG kudos to him for bringing something like this to such a small crowd of bike owners. I'm used to being part of a small crowd with my vehicle. There are no BIG companies that make aftermarket stuff like there is for Jeeps. It's some Joe in his garage the uses his passion of what he has and making something for others with his same passion.

For some one to step back from a keyboard wishing, to actually doing something. I give him two big thumbs up.

^^^ I agree Ranger. While I may not buy one it remains a remarkably ingenious piece of engineering. Unlike the OP, something tells me that Toro has a head on his shoulders.

Wish in one hand and $h!t in the other and see wich one gets full first. ...I want this, ....I wish I had that, ...one day I'm going to________to/for/on my bike. Shit or get off the pot. If your losing your house maybe you should get a second, third or fourth job instead of spending so much time on the computer. PITTY PARTIES SUCK. I worked 3 jobs for 4 years so that I could buy my bikes outright and not have to pay interest on financing or ultra high SoCal full coverage insurance rates. I'm sorry that you and your family aren't in the best of health but no one is going to swoop in and play Captain Supa-Save-A-Ho with your sorry ass. You could even start selling VFR trailers. I think you'll have the market cornered on those. Better hurry though, because I heard that this one guy that got banned from here was already working on a patent. Maybe, you could pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars. Cause you could really use a wish right now, a wish right now, a wish right noowww.
I apologize for the rant. Don't bother banning me. I'll just go ahead and disappear for a few months or until another SLO ride whatever comes first.

seems thats a shot at me, seems to be a common theme around here.

First of all, i started this thread asking if OTHER people would turbo a vfr, didnt state that i wanted to.

and if you really want to know, I do work 2 jobs right now, and just applied for a 3rd over the weekend. I am down to eating one meal a day unless we have leftovers which willl save 400 bucks over the next 10 months. and if you actually read the thread i said that if i attempted to build a vfr turbo it woudlent be untill next year.

and who said anythign about my familys health? sure my wife is missing a fot and a half of her intestines, but she still lives a happy life, and a few meds control my seizures, thus the only reason i can even drive.

You know, it just occurred to me that 4 very small turbochargers with permanently lubed bearings and some creative ducting might be interesting...

there is no replacement, for shear displacement. putting a turbo on one of these bikes is like putting a 5 gallon exhaust can on a bone stock civic.

I have spent a lot of money with no hope of ever recovering 1/20th of the cost....and this is something that I even consider a crazy idea. just put nitrous on it and be done with it...you'll have money left over for all the parts you'll need. if not, have at it and lets see what you can put together, my guess is that there was never any real intention for you to follow through with any of this.

even a dreamer eventually delivers something, or goes nuts trying.

I have to say that there is a certain lack of civility of late. Not only this thread but several others as well. I know that some of us have issues of our own and with others, but ouch. I, being retired military like to slam on people as a form or entertainment as much or more than anybody. But some of us seem to have agendas that are not really in keeping with the spirit of fun, but rather more punitive in nature. I come and go here as my time allows and I don't know all the personalitys and all the sub plots, but it seems a little rougher here than a year ago, a little less inviting. Not that it is all encompassing, for the most part the replies to threads are spot on and humorous to boot. I don't know, did I miss a big problem that we are recovering from? It's like watching a foreign language film with no subtitles. I know somethings going on, but I don't quite get the gist of it.

I love my VFR, and I like this board, it is the best resource I know of and I'd like to see it continue to grow and expand. I'm just not sure we are doing it justice in all things.

Well that's enough, I'm not trying to offend anyone, although I'm sure I have. I do apologize in advance.

    Let the beatings begin.

It seems to come and go, and I have never been able to figure it out. It could be the economic times in general, or just family-like disagreements. Personally, I try to stay neutral and let it go. Almost every member, from my narrow view anyway, has meaningful input from time to time. It might be few and far between, but it happens.

To bring you up to date in the VFRWorld drama, TheUnnamed11 has been banned several times, he used to be GoForARide and before that he was birddseed We're not bashing on him for no reason; he posted some pretty inane topics and there's even a thread poking fun at him: http://vfrworld.com/forums/anything-goes/27635-top-ten-questions-gopher-has-yet-ask-2.html

And furthermore check out threads GoForARide started: http://vfrworld.com/forums/search.php?searchid=543861 He starts inane topics like do you ride with your visor up or down? And he asks if going up a tooth in the rear will help despite the fact there are oh, about a million pages on just that.

Iv also created threads that have gone for hundreds of posts of good conversation about vfr related topics, given good information to new members about their bike questions, orgainized a group ride for members of vfrw. attempting to organize another group ride.

I freakin gave my bike away to a member, i even delivered it to him for gas money.

iv given more to this community than most. but calling me names seems to be a more usefull topic here for people.

if i have to weed through a few dummies trying to better themselvs by degrading me to get the information i need then ill deal with it.

im sure i will survive being called a name by someone ill never see.

i know what he said. there is just no point in responding to it. there is no need to conform to what you want. if i am a dork then that is who i chose to be. if you have a problem with it then just ignore it. there are plenty of people, even in this thread, that are happy to conversate about different topics.

by the way, i am nott the first person to bring up this topic, the difference is there wasent 2 people bashing him. they just discussed what would and wouldent work with it
