Just wanted to delurk and say thanks for all the great information on this site. I read as much as I could before purchasing a creampuff '00.

She came with some tasteful modifications; Sargent seat, Givi hard luggage, dual power outlets, upgraded R/R, Heli bars, and many more that I'll have to look through the service records & receipts for. I'm sure I won't fully appreciate all the upgrades for some time.

I sure enjoyed looking at your bikes, so I've posted a few quick snapshots in the gallery. But before someone jumps in with 'this thread is worthless without pics!' ...

Planning to sign up for a MSF refresher course within the next month. Really looking forward to being back in the saddle!

Hello and welcome! Very nice to see another 5th genner in the house! I dig the voltmeter and accessory outlets. Where are you located?

    Appreciate the welcome!

When I started shopping, I didn't think I'd like the yellow, but when I saw the bike in person, I was immediately hooked.

I'm in Houston, TX. Practicing low speed parking lot maneuvers is brutal!

Nice--really like the yellow. I like how the voltmeter is integrated into the plastic--mine is stuck on with some hook & loop--I might have to pursue that mod--nice!

What kind of givi case you running with? I've got that same set up and really like it. The givi mount really doesn't take away from the lines of the bike, IMO.

    Nice bike!

Have you ever heard the phrase "Jizz in my pants"?

That is a very sexy 2000. Enjoy her.

thanks again for such a warm welcome

I spent hours and hours over the last several weeks reading everything I could about the 5th Gen.

I'm not sure which Givi case I have. I'll post a pic. I agree, even without the bag, the framework is not an eyesore.

That's a Givi E360, 40L case. Should fit a standard sized helmet if you remove the red doc holder from the inner top lid. I have the same on my 5G and rarely go anywhere without it. Fits 2 full grocery bags or a 12 pack nicely.

That E360 looks good. I've got an E45 that holds a lot of stuff, but kinda looks boxy--I like it though for commuting with a laptop and case and other work stuff.

By "12 pack", I certainly hope you're referring to either a 12 pack of protein drinks or maybe some yogurt. :boozer::wink:

Those plug covers mounted in the fairing look like toggle switch covers for missle launchers.

The "FIRE" button must be on the handlebar under the throttle.

I know who you bought that from. I was gonna snag her up, but two bikes is enough for now.

    Flint,

Very nice 2000 VFR! I got my yellow '00 vfr800 about 3 months ago and I am loving it. My bike has been at the bike shop for a week now while I wait for a new wiring harness from Honda. I do not have didn't have any brake indicator light when I squeeze the front brake lever. The technicians said it is not the $20 switch, but there is a short somewhere in the wiring, so I need a new wiring harness which will cost me $78.

I saw your pics of the bike and yes...sweeet!

    Ride Safe
