I have it on good authority that the snatchy throttle is intentional and was programmed in to give those moving from a VFR with a severely stretched chain to the new shaftie so that we'd feel comfortable.

I think it is possible that the throttle issue is limited to U.S. bikes, but it's just a guess. I have not read any complaints from owners outside the U.S. (anyone know where we can look at similar forums in the UK or Australia?), so maybe the problem is U.S. emissions restrictions. The other possibility is that you are not riding the bike in traffic, so you aren't working the throttle much at low speed. When you close it to slow down and then open it just a little in traffic (not trying to accelerate much, just follow the cars in front of you), my bike is either not speeding up, or it's surging.

In any case, if you are riding the wheels off the bike, I'm sure you'll never notice. Except maybe for your wallet.... paying for tires... lots of tires..... The thing is a beast when you take it off its leash.

The distinct absence of fresh or even freezedried Jo-jos is becoming critical. Some places that are beyond mention are faking it by using foreign grown Yukon Golds instead of real American Idahos grown here on our sacred soil.

Friends in the Immigration and Naturaization service have spotted numerous strangers in the Pocatello area that have no papers and speak with broughes. In another, and I hope not related chain of events, Toys R Us, are completely sold out of Mr. Potato Heads.

Sadly though, it looks like there is no shortage of Mr. Dick Heads. Too bad we don't need'em.

Did you get your VFR1200 billy? Do you have some real world experience to weigh in on this with yet? Does this twitchy fuel thing :twitch: affect the DCT too?

Like I always say, there is more than one form of birth control. Do you have them surgically removed? I am rather fond of mine.

Had it for over a month. Gotta pay more attention dude.. No twitchy throttle, no jacking, my ass is fine on the stock seat. Lots more horses than I really need, I am not going to race it and so far I have not run out of gas. Still running the stock can, OEM tires and not that much wear so far. Three coats of polymer "wax" over that paint keeps the bugs from sticking.

Down the road, a new can and maybe a custom seat.

BRB I am headed for the garage to sit on it and do the vroom-vroom ritual. I hear if properly performed the sucker will get 50mpg.

No DCT, GPS, Plasma TV, bags that look like some SciFi movie design reject, price stickers, cruise controls, cellphones. air horns, stuffed animals, 350 lb. SO. Just call me Shifty.. My one concession was a tank protector to keep my jacket zipper from gowing up my nice paint and it ain't from Honda..

I would like to take a spin on a DCT equipped 12 but I am not going to buy one. What that particular feature will do is put some guys back on bikes that maybe couldnt for some reason operate all the controls. Case in point. A guy I know lost a left foot when a drunk Tboned him on his bike. All the bells and whistles on his prosthesis but no feeling. DCM to the best of my understanding takes care of that problem.

Hi Deklund, I rode the bike again today in various situations including heavy traffic. I have experimented closing the throttle and re-opening to maintain a steady speed in different rpm ranges and I honestly could not notice anything abnormal or irritating. Mind you, my street bikes have always been fuel injected (stock maps) so I guess I got used to the on-off feeling you always get with fuel injection at one point... But if anything, I find the VFR smoother than my '06 CBR1000RR in that regards. Your point is interesting regarding U.S. mapping vs anywhere else... maybe this could be a contributing factor.

You are right, there is more than one form of birth control. Your personalty probably leads to the only one 100% effective (abstinence). Good thing you're fond of your little things... at least YOU can give them a little attention.

I would really like to be able to ride a Canadian model to see what the differences are. The issue is just too big to miss, especially if you have other bikes to compare against. I expect a little jerkiness when re-opening the throttle given the FI and shaft drive, but there is something else going on...

    Sounds just like the RSV4?

If Honda is listening, bring the US an 800 and 1000/1200 Transalp! The VFR1200 motor would be a great fit.

What kills me is Honda makes the bikes I love. They just don't bring them to the US.

"Things" as in more than one? If I had even two, who would need personality? If you are so equipped we could make a small fortune unless you're shy. I have friends in showbiz. Have you ever considered living in Hollywood or NYC?

Oh! So as you were referring to THEM (my balls), that you then indicated that you were fond of yours and that now, you are saying that you only have one... do we have to take this as a public announcement that you only have one ball?? Wow! I feel for you.

First dude I ever heard of who claims his balls have personality. Do you have conversations with them? Names for each? A big mirror at home you can stand on?
