Isn't the hurricane wheel a straight swap for the front?

I agree. Hopefully I can talk him down some.

Gen 2 is a solid bike but with F2 wheel conversion is rock solid. So well worth the effort and it really is not that much effort.

Everyone knows that Hopit was taking a jab at me and my F2 problems, and I was playing dumb right?

I don't know the route I will take with this bike if I purchase it.

If I do a wheel swap I may go Hurricane cause I read it was easier. I want to stay away from any headache-making conversions.

It would be a great bike for you. The 2nd gen was pure sport, hence the lack of center stand, small size, light weight

    :vtr2:

The 87 I bought now has 48,000 miles and showing no signs of slowing down

Good luck talkin him down

    LOL.....awwww.

Well I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't miss you guys, or the bike. I'm selling it to a friend so I'm sure I'll still have to deal with it one way or another.

    Thanks. I hope so.

    Who's crazy...the seller or me?

$2k Canadian is about average for this bike up here. There is another up here for $1200 with fairing damage, another few in the $2-2.5k range and one crazy guy who was asking $4k for his that has 82,000 km on it!! He is now down to $3k.

Yea..I will live with the hurricane wheel for now until I win the equivalent of the motorcycle parts lottery. Like i am gonna find a complete front...LOL In enough time maybe...never know.
It is already on the bike I bought...I was hoping there was a brake upgrade for the oem size.

Hopefully you both can come to an arrangement. It looks good! I chose one that needed "brightening" should we say....but complete and nice.

Thanks Michael. Canada definitely has some high prices for used bikes...are American neighbors don't quite understand

The seller showed the bike again yesterday but no takers. I'm certain the cosmetic issues and the fact that he has to boost it to get it to run is turning a lot of people off.

The idea of removing all the fairings and fixing it little by little gives me a warm feeling inside.

Somehow I'm still able to stick my nose in and stir up trouble, I'm sure you can too.

Besides, Gen2, you're still in the same forum.

Side effects of living with a VF500F, isn't it so?

Soon you will be missing your VF500, but hey... you can always buy a "new" VF500 and start the fun all over again!

The ups and downs of selling it to a friend for his first bike.

I get to see it and occasionally ride it

When something goes wrong I will most likely be working on it :frown:
