My first was a 74 CB750 K4 I bought in Feb of 75. In June of 75 I entered my first road race on a H1 Kaw 500 triple. The CB was considered a big bike at the time. Most were twins from HD or England back then. Loved that multi exhaust.

My first bike (think I was about 16/17) was a '74 Honda CB750k2. I loved that bike, was actually my dad's but he pretty much gave it to me when I started asking for to many lifts :p (he still has it, slowly restoring it). When I got my first job I managed to scrounge together a few grand for a late '70's Honda CB550 which I had for a couple years. I then stopped riding for 4 years (my dark days) untill I eventually got the cash to buy another bike. Got a Suzuki GSF750 Bandit, then A Buell XB9SX (AWESOME!) and now my Honda CB1000R... if all goes well my next bike will be a Gen6 VFR800. Also tried off road briefly with a Honda CFR250X.... broke way to many bones so that didn't last, lol.

My first bike was this Honda CL77 250 scrambler .
I was working in a Honda shop and I was 16.
I am glad I had a decent motorcycle. It was 1968.
Lots of power. center stand, kick start, kick stand too.

That was a great bike!! Still is.
I was a Honda mechanic and one came in a crate and the mechanics were the first people in America to get to see one.

My first bike was a 1978 Honda CM185T (Twinstar), top speed of 68mph, then in 1982 I bought a new CB900F, it felt like a rocket compared to the 185.

'78 CX500 then an '84 VF500F and now a '98 VFR800. The CX I'm keeping as a project and the VF500 I'm going to sell once I get the carbs sorted out. I love the VF and would like to have something like it in the future but without all the annoying potential issues like wearing out cams and dropping valves.

Parents didn't know I owned this, drove my car (1960 Sunbeam Alpine) to a friends and took the bike to school. I think it had .5" of suspension and my hands would go numb after about a half hour. It also had rectifier problems. Would love to have it back and my first great bike was a 1968 CB350, paid $350 for it with 400 miles on it.

First family bike was a Yamaha mini bike, a pukka race replica, about 1980. My first bike was a Honda MT5. My dad used to take me out riding in the forests in Zambia, I even did MX on the thing. Then a whole bunch of off-road and foot-up trials bikes, a 250 Fantic being the best. First road bike a Suzuki GS450 (brilliant commuter) and just sold the 1984 CB1100RC to buy the VFR.

    That is a Honda CL72 or CL77 but not a CB350.
The CB's were the road models and have the exhausts down low. One on each side.

Looks just like my first bike.

Well I am one of the, apparently rare, young guns on here riding a VFR. Maybe I just have an old soul . First bike was at 21, a 2008 Suzuki DRZ 400SM. Ridiculously fun in the corners, lacking in power. I spent a ton of cash trying to turn it into a semi-tourer, before I realized I should just get a VFR, haven't looked back since.

I was 15 when I first got on a street bike... A 1986 Honda Rebel; THE perfect starter bike. It was awsome cause in South Carolina you can ride on a permit at age 15 so I was mobile a year before all my buddies. :p

and the saga continued with a list a mile long of bikes.

My first bike of any kind was a YZ 125 back in the early '80's. My first streetbike was an '88 VTR 250. I wrecked the shit out of that thing on four seperate occasions over the course of a year and a half. I can happily say that I havn't been down on the street since then. A great learning bike indeed. I am doubting we'll ever see a cooler color scheme come our way again. In fact mine had Don Johnsons signature on the tank.

My first bike was a 1948 Whizzer with an 80cc engine in a Schwinn bicycle, with heavy-duty spokes. I rode it every day to deliver 105 newspapers in my neighborhood. I added a high compression brass head and a straight pipe. Top speed was around 50 mph. We bought it used for $150. Here is what they look like . . . YouTube - 1948 Whizzer It was a fun machine ~
