    so,

I've owned the 6th gen for about four months now and I have heard a few phrases more than once!!

    "what IS that?"

"is it a 1000"... and then "EIGHT HUNDRED?? (confused look)

    Me: "its a Honda"
    Someone: "CBR"
    Me: "VFR"
    Someone: VF what?

Just think its funny the stuff people say about these apparently rare bikes

just wondering if any of you have caught the same

I've had more comments on the VFR in 3 months of riding than on the Katana in 6 years. But if you've seen a 98+ Kat you can understand why .

I've only had one person ask how big it is, but quite a few have comment on how good it looks. Once you say VFR or interceptor most know what she is, especially the people my age (late 30's) they seem to remember the interceptors from when they were younger.

yeah its strange, apparently the 86/87 VFR was way ahead of its time. People do NOT believe it is nearly 25 years old

From people who don't really know honda's or VFR's:

Them: What bike is that/what do you ride?
    Me: Honda VFR?
    Them: 1000?
    Me: 800
Them: Oh, nice bike (walks away)

From people who do know VFR's I get a lot of double and triple takes, I wonder why...

I was out at a grudge night at maple grove and in the pit lane was beside a busa w/nitrous, built for the 1/4th mile from top to bottom and he had plenty of questions about my VFR as we wait. He was in his late 30's mentioned he really likes the VFR's because of the ergonomics and asked about the 7th gen if they kept anything from prior years etc.

He then proceeded down the track at 8.6 at 160mph while i did a measly 11.9 at 114mph haha.

to kids there are only 4 engine sizes...

    600
    750
    1000
    busa

Young kids in "tricked" out cars... "yo that thing is sick, is it a 1000???? I am getting a busa after I convince my parents! How did they do that with the rear wheel?! ok rides safe" followed by a reckless exit from a sunoco parking lot in a mid 90's GTI

Well to be honest most people usually don't say too much when they first see my bike MiddleTBabb. :twitch:

After the shock wears off they've got a lot to say though.

I've actually had a few people ask me "What kind of Ducati is that?"

I usually try to interest them in my exclusive line of tinfoil hats, at which point the conversation usually ends.

They usually think its some kind of litrebike, the racket it makes confuses them I suppose. The gear whine and Staintune combination messes with their heads.

The resultant confusion makes for a good opening for the tinfoil hat pitch, but I dont get many takers.
