    So,

    I promised myself that I would pay off the bike before messing with it. I'm breaking that promise.

    The other day I had a "cramp buster" type throttle rocker on and in a slow right turn, the bike snatched up and nearly threw me off. It is snatchy enough without the rocker...

    Good riddance PAIR connector. Good riddance flapper and snorkel.

    SO HERE GOES!

    (grabs a beer, heads to the garage)

    Don't look back, buy the A&A Performance PAIR valve block off plates, and enjoy. Might as well get rid of the Evap canister while you are at it.

    I've got an '08 and I have no idea what you guys are on about. I've never had a problem with a snatchy throttle,..or the VTEC transition everyone keeps banging on about?

    +1... I knew I was forgetting to mention something. Nothing beats a great $0.99 mod.

    Concerning what VifferDude said... I wonder if it is more of a U.S. issue due to more stringent emission controls or something. Some say they have the problem, others say they have none. For those of us that do, it is a shitty problem to have and is easily rectified by a few simple and cheap modifications.

    As soon as I replaced my exhaust, removed the pair valves, de-flappered, de-snorkeled, de-evaped, and did a throttle body sync, I noticed a world of difference in how smooth the bike was and the vtec transition. I can't imagine just doing new pipes and and mufflers taking care of all this, especially when my results were nearly identical to what many others have testified to.

    I think we have a different ECU as well. I put my bike on a Dyno and got 115HP. Could be that the Dyno is out?. But then again I remember reading that HRC ECU's were different to the regular ones and provide more ponies? So maybe my bike has a different ECU so I don't have a snatchy throttle and more HP?

    yes vifferdude! there are apparently some differences between the Aussie and US VFR emissions control systems. I read about it yesterday on VFR Discussions. Enjoy your good throttle!

    and guys, geez one thing at a time. The bike feels great. And uh... the plates are on the way! (evap can next!)

    how much more stuff can i throw into this box labeled "Crap I took off of my VFR" ?

    You can take off the heavy stock mufflers and replace them with something much lighter and that will give you a few more ponies. Better yet, you can replace the stock headers with some that don't have a catalytic converter and save some weight there. After that you add a power commander and go get it tuned to perfection.

    You can also remove that ugly ass stock fender and put something better in its place. Unless you use the side cases, top trunk, or grab handles, you can pull the grab handles off and cover them with their associated block off plates for a cleaner look. Feel free to get rid of those ugly reflectors on the front forks too.

    That about does it for stuff that you can remove. Then you get on to stuff that you replace. Mostly this entails replacing the rear shock and fork internals with something much nicer.

    Then you move on to the group of things that you add on and that ..... ok, I'll just quit before I copy and paste a list that will keep be broke for years to come.

    WELLL, my fender is gone. It was gone the second day I owned the bike. I have used parts of it for lots of different stuff around the house. Thinking of starting a thread called "The cool stuff I did with the remains of the VFR fender"

    I have a question...over a year later

    Have you noticed a change in fuel efficiency?
    I like my near 50 mpg, will I lose that if I pull all that stuff off?

    I no longer live in California, so there are no longer legal ramifications to this issue.

    I'm not smart enough or well enough educated to post information to Badbilly's satisfaction.
    Because of that, I pretty much quit posting.
    Still read the forums and with BB on my ignore list, he is no longer much of an aggravation.
    Still a little since it seems almost any thread he jumps in, it dies shortly thereafter.
    Good information gets cluttered up with sarcasm, racial profiling, nit-picking, bad jokes and posts that are as irrelevant as this one.

    Ok, to get back on track here, where do I get parts and instruction for evap can removal and o2 eliminators, also PAIR plates, I did the blockoff but the more crap I remove the better! As a side note, didn't the flapper removal make the bike louder for the rider?

    Yes, it gets a noticeably louder intake growl. Personally I have grown to like it
