At the risk of sounding like Dr. Watson - the same factory and the same OEM part number equals the same part.

Not nessessarily as the Plants are assembly Plants - not manufacturing plants. Honda sources parts from a variety of external suppliers and internal Honda sub-assembly manufacturing facilities.

I would love to see a picture of the DMr bracket on a 84-85 swingarm ....in theory it should like Matt's ground downversion with the DMr bracket almost touching the swing-arm VS mine with the bracket sitting proud of the swing-arm by a fair margin

If I was bright I would have taken some measurements of my swing-arm with the wheel off ...DOH !

Next time I have the wheel off I will take some detailed measurements

Is that the kit on Jamies bike?

We need to see what the tabs look like on his and Matts bike (2 bikes that the kit fits)

This is your kit installed on Jamie's '84, IIRC.

IC, How does your Brembo Hurricane caliper bracket fit over the tab?

Here are a couple photos. The caliper bracket was designed to work with a CBR600F rim and a Brembo caliper from a Ducati 999.

Looks like it has a very large slot for the tab.

Any pictures of the tab without the bracket installed?

Are you referring to the slot's depth or its height?

Depth. Looks like it just engulfs that swingarm tab.

    Thank you, it is.

Unfortunitely I can't measure my swingarm tab since it's about half grounded away.

    Glad this is of help.

Perhaps we could cajole Moose to get out the old digital caliper for a dimension check?

I would wager the tabs are the same across all the model years.

Maybe.....heeeeey Moose? Wanna do us a favor?

That would make sense from the manufacturing stand point. It wouldn't make sense in the reasoning of why the kit won't fit my bike/I'm the only one complaining.

    Two bikes, right?

Moose's was a non-flier as well - IIRC, when you tried the install the kit on his bike you encountered the same issue with the swingarm tab.

It is a puzzle for sure though, as your kit clearly worked when installed on Jamie D's bike.

Those Canadian gremlins are a strong breed...

Very much appreciated! You will need to remove the wheel though to accomplish this.

Hmmm I wonder if I just pull the axel out just enough to drop the right side spacers and Caliper bracket if there is enough room to then drop the bracket ... this I can do on my own ... wrestling with the wheel / spacers / brackets etc by yourself is a pain particulariliy in 100 degree (humid) weather

Correct. The kit doesn't fit his bike or mine.

When I was doing all the wheel swapping on my own I would put something under the rear wheel so I wouldn't have to lift it up.

Maybe you can place something under the rear tire so you can just slide the axle out enough so you can remove the caliper bracket?

If you can't then we'll try a day and I can swing by maybe?

    Beavers. Not Gremlins.
