No I don't have GPS accessible on my bike, and you're talking 1.5 hours to your starting point from my house! By 0930, on a Saturday morning? I'm prob not gonna make this thing... Too early, too far to ride on the freeway just to get to the starting point, etc. Maybe some other time.

I'm not sure where your starting point is in Fredericsburg, but from exit 133 on I-95 to the starting point is only about 65 minutes via I-95/295. Course who am I to talk smack... I can ride Sunday but not Saturday.:frown:

I'm out near Wilderness, and according to just adding a point on the Google maps link provided above, from my house to the starting point is 73 miles and 1:27 minutes to be exact...

AND I'm a light weight, not an Iron Butt...

It is total worth it!! I have ridden longer to hit some great roads with Hotbrakes before and I would be there for another great day of riding if I weren't going to be in NYC. And it would be even longer for me to get down there. Still worth every minute of hellway to get there.

Hotbrakes- Hope the day goes well for you and the others.

Wilderness is only 20 min from my house and I'm 30 min from the start point. I'll come pick you up.

Oh man... now that I looked up where "Wilderness, VA" is, there's even MORE reason for you to come as you don't even need to slum the highway. Take Rt. 20 to Rt 522 south and boogie. I'd stay on 522 and meet the group at the 522/711 junction for there second stop... looks like the plan is 10:30. I just looked and this route is still 70.1 miles and google says 1:39 but I guarantee I could do it in 1:15 or better and smile while doing it.

On another note, I AM an IBA guy, but how the heck did you know that? This should really be a pretty easy day.

Sure you don't want to do this on Sunday?

The stars are in alignment and it looks like I'll be able to get out then but Saturday is out. :pout:

So, I ride out to the country store/gas station at 522 and 208 near Lake Anna all the time, so I could meet you there if you'd like. What time would that be? (In other words, how God-awful early would I need to get up?)

This sounds like a decent option, if I don't get totally lost, already looking at it on the map, your route line doesn't even cross 522 and 711, so I'm already scared... BUT, leaving my house at 9 to get to this point by 10:30 is at least not so fricken ridiculously early...

(AND yes, I'm a fricken whiner... If you guys were like, "we're leaving at 2PM", I'd be in. Have I mentioned I HATE mornings? ESPECIALLY on the weekend?)

I can always ride on a Sunday! Depends on how I feel after Saturday but there's a good chance.

I'll be headed out, alone or with company, doesn't matter. Normally when I get the chance I run a day loop that's about 425 miles round trip for me. I'm thinking this time however I'll try your route out to the mountains and then go from there.

I could meet you at 522 and 208 at 0845. I have to be at Starbucks at 0930 for the beginning of the ride. Guess that option won't work for you.

The map was done quickly and isn't entirely correct, we will be at the BP at 522/711 at 1030. Just meet us there. 522 is a lot of fun between 33 and 64 too!

Well, I'm glad that you made it through mostly unscathed it sounds like. Gear had it's purpose although it was hard to get excited about crawling into my leathers yesterday in 90 plus degree heat.

Care to elaborate on what happened? Was it heat/fatigue related?

I had a lot of fun yesterday, trying to ensure that I was getting enough fluids in me but still hit the wall. I was about 305 miles into my trip and I began getting foggy mentally (classic sign of heat exhaustion) and physically I was fading fast. I was 110 miles from home and forfeited some good twisties that I had intended to ride choosing to intentionally go the slab instead (yes I was THAT bad) sensing that otherwise something bad was going to happen.

So will the RWB be replaced with a 7th gen?

Could have contributed, I was getting whipped. If I had been a little sharper, could I have gotten that last foot of turn in? Good question.

I have no idea yet... Still haven't heard from the insurance company... Should know in a couple days, then we'll start deciding...

Hey guys. I'm in Richmond and looking for fellow VFR owners for weekend riding. How many of us are around Ricmond? Do you get together often?
