Nice looking bike and yes $1400 IMO is a very good price for the condition of the bike. One thing though. Those Dunlop 501 tires suck. Actually the rear one is fine. The front one sucks big time. I've used Dulops on the street and in racing for years. The 501 was a big disappointment. I'm using Continental Conti-Go's front and rear. Very nice bias ply tires. Just a heads up if you buy it. Don't judge the handling of the bike by the 501's on it.

The only thing you may need to get is a better rear shock if it doesn't have one on it already. They didn't last long and were not adjustable. Using better brake pads and going to steel braided lines really improves the braking and brake feel. Otherwise it's a solid platform. A lot of people will tell you, you need the oil mod. Well there's another way around that and not to worry about it. If you buy it pm me and I'll explain.

That's the first bad thing I have read about 501's. I've been looking for new tires and most place/people seem very happy with them.

Yes they did have V45. Someone took them off.

The 501 have at least two bad faults IMO.

One is the single groove around the center. It makes the tire act like a ribbed tire and wiggle heavy over steel grid brides and grooved highways. It cuts down on the center contact patch when riding straight. I'll expound in a second about that. Also if you look close there is nothing but solid rubber on each side of the groove. Making the center half inch a slick with a groove in it. Because of that this tire sucks in the rain especially on road tar strips. Those tarry strips they seal the cracks with. The tire really wants to dance around bad. Really bad at 90 mph even down at 70 mph. My Conti's and other Dunlops had water sipes that would reach over the center line of the tire and create traction in the wet under any speeds and any conditions. The 501's just want to slide sometimes.

Two - the shape of the tire sipes the way the ends turn up straight, in the center, they leave any area in the center without much tread, circumference wise. So when they are new, you start lean and at about 10 degrees they feel vague, like the bike wants to fall in. Then they catch. They do work good in the rain when leaned over.

I've raced on the Dunlop 591's and the precurser tires to them. They worked wonderful in the rain as well as the dry. I don't like ribbed tires or anything with a center line. I didn't get to see the front 501 before buying. I already bought and installed the rear. I thought the front would be the same. It wasn't and I was stuck with it. It was a big disappointment from Dunlop.

Well I picked it up today! Looked better in person than pics! Runs and rides like it's new. No joke. Also no joke is that I got it for $1100 ;-)
Got some misc. parts new in Honda sealed bags. Orings and sidepanel bolts ect... Also got 2 valve covers that are sandblasted and ready to be polished or painted. ? Real happy with my purchase and can't wait to put some miles on it.
