Getting a feel for a Poconos ride.

I'm still in for this weekend. That sounds like it might be a plan, Poco - but definitely need to find out what time they are going to be there. I'll see if I can find there thread and make a post on it.

(I love these weather changes, too. When we canceled our initial plan, that was due to rain and tornadoes. Now I'm hearing for Saturday its supposed to be 90+ and lots of humidity. Lovely).

 

Can you give me a physical address where you guys are meeting so I can mapquest it. NO GPS i have to look it up and figure out things before I go!!

 

............sure. You're best bet would be to ride over with me. Rt 80,last exit in Pa before you hit Jersey. If you don't mind using your right hand and some slab you're prolly an hour-n-a half from me. Ok google has you at 2 hr's out. Like I said if you don't mind "observing" the posted speed limit.....you can do it.

I believe we're meeting at the Dunkin Donuts on Route 17 in Sloatsburg, NY. I don't have an exact address for it, sorry.

I know you have a couple ways you can get there from Newark. I'm thinking several of us that are slabbing it there - myself,Rhenter, DenT, Dino, PoconoVFR + others - will probably be coming up Route 287N and grabbing Rt. 17 just across the NY border.

Pocono - You're the leader of this circle jerk; whats the plan? What time are we meeting - still at 7am? is there any plan to stop or go through Bear Mountain? I've been talking with the guys from CT/MA, and it appears their ride is still on for Bear Mountain, but doesn't look like they are going to join us. however, they did mention a possible meet and greet, just to say hello, before we all head our separate ways.

Now all we need is the stamp of approval.

Update: Ok got the location from Dino's KMZ (thanks) and it's confirmed that is the address.

 

Looks like I'm out guys.Too far away for me.I run a map quest to Catskills and its 4.5 hours one way.If you do something closer I'll make it .Like the Poconos ride.

 

Understood Vince. That would be a helluva long day. There will definitely be others that are closer, so keep your eyes on the forums!

I'm pivoting and pivoting. But since I don't know what time we are supposed to be meeting Seb, I don't know if we have time to stop or run through Bear Mountain to meet those other guys. 'Course I don't even know when and if they will be there.

What do we got...2 hours from Sloatsburg to meet Seb?

Ya' know for a guy who hates logistics it's all you seem to worry about. What ever happen to the "Fonda" way of thinking. Wind in my face,freedom of the bike.....you know shit like that.






Anyway we have a hitch in the plan. Sebbie's out for some undisclosed top secret mission for Stewart's or something I don't know...........but if our local main man midlife would be willing to lead for a while......I do believe he knows the route as well. I know it but not well enough to lead you hoodlums on it. Before ya' know it we'd be out of gas and in Canada.......for those of you who've had the pleasure of a poconovfr......."Hey where does this road go?" ride, you'll know what I'm sayin'.

Keep the plan the way it was and let's go ahead and get the whole Bear Mt. annual thing out of the way.

Does this mean we aren't going to the Catskills? Bear Mnt is ok but we run the chance of traffic, tourists from the City, mucho cops, did I mention traffic? Bear Mnt is nice to visit but there are really arent any long roads to rail on like in the Catskills or the Poconos. Whats your plan Steve?
