I am in the market for new tires and was wondering what everyone else is riding on and their thoughts on those particular tires.

Just switched to dunlop sportmax Q2's and love em. Great grip from standing straight up, to full lean. I only have about 900-1000 miles on em so longevity is still unknown, but the tread still looks great.

Pilot Road 2 (Front and Back). Put them on about 1200kms ago, and love them. They're a long-mileage tire, but handle (thus far) very nicely in the twisties.

I've had nothing but Metzlers for all three Interceptors that I've owned.

Plus side: I've had great success with all of them. Plenty of grip for the street & great mileage.

Negative side: I don't have experience with any other tire so I can't say they're better than brand X from first hand experience.

    ME4s here btw...

Michelin Pilot Road front and rear, I use my bike only on weekwnds for 200 km ride, great hanling and good wet grip, they are made for sport touring bikes because of the heavy weight and no problems at all.

For my other bije (CBR 600RR 2007) I use Michlein Pilot Power and are great too, they last maybe 10000 km but are designed for light and sport bikes mainly.

Darn, you beat me to it!

I have Mich Pilot Powers front and rear. Have used Bridgestones and Continentals. Going to try Shinko Advanced 005 next go around. Also heard the Avon line is good.

interestingly, I bought a front and rear Pilot road2 . The rear was made in Spain and the front made in Thailand!!!

Well, at least they weren't made in France!!! I heard the ones made in France had a recall because they would unravel at high speed!!!

Most people hate Michelin because they don't like the French...As far as I am concerned they are overall the best tire..and I have tried them all except for Shinko and since Michelin has the largest worldwide share and presence despite the shitty tires made in France, I go with them... And I don't work for Michelin..

The Battleax is ok as well..

Pirelli Angels---Handle great---you may hear that alot-everyone has a type of tire that they prefer-
I believe you need to ask yourself what kind of riding you will be doing and what tire will work for you........

IMO stay away from the Shinko tires. Yes, they are in-expensive; I think I put on a set for less than $200 but you get what you pay for. I found them to get decent mileage but did not give me a great feel of confidence when leaned over. Or maybe it was just me, again JMO.

PP2 front and PR2 rear. The last set ended up wearing out at the same time, f&r and got good mileage, somewhere around 8K.

These are good in the wet, stick in the dry, fair in the cold, and get as many miles as anything that I have put on the bike.
I am about to buy my forth set.

Well, I have to say, for the money, IMHO, Conti Road Attacks are a great tire for the money. On my Kawi ZRX1200, I'm on my 4th set. My VFR is on it's 1st set (just got it last Dec.). I rode my ZRX to Canada and back a few years ago, and on the way back, riding through W.VA (back roads, lots of coal dust) in the pouring rain, running at a fast pace, they never gave me pause, stuck like glue in the rain. Very predictable. Had both bikes down to Eureka Springs AR early May, and those roads will put any tire to the test, absolutly no complaints. Usualy get close to 8k on a rear of the Rex, we'll see on the VFR. I'm an above average fast street rider, and I'll use these until someone makes a very convincing argument for something eles. In my 46 years of street riding I've probably tried every brand at one time or another (except the cheapies). Hard to beat for approx $225 a pair!
